Hi Chris.... I'm not sure who George the Builder is..... where did you find him?? Is he by any chance listed as Arthur (of b1883's) father??
If not who is he??

(Bringing Thread back, after receiving pm from Adriana, about her latest posting)...
Turns out the Birth cert. she has for Arthur, says he was born 12th Dec. 1883, so ties in with 1884 March qtr. reg. also looks to fit the 1894 Baptism details posted earlier.
But so far no sign or sight of a George the Builder!...
Chris :)

Second child is another Arthur Maidwell... I knew him. Born 1912.... Annie's little brother.
Also... On Arthur and Minnie's marriage license.... he is a Fish Fryer and they live at 87 Bolen Road..... this is in 1909.
Just noticed... at their marriage... Arthur Maidwell's father is listed as deceased... so as for my last comment... he obviously was not at the birth registration.
Looking for info on Caroline Cottages... more later.

I have all of Annie's birth certificate and a download of Arthur's from Ancestry... which cuts off a bit of the left margin.
Here's the info on Annie's: Born North Hackney, District Hackney, London. b July 7, 1910, Annie Dorothy, Girl, Father Arthur Maidwell, Mother Minnie Maidwell - formerly Thompson, Father's occupation Fishmonger's Salesman, Informant is A Maidwell - father, 8 Garnham Street, Stoke Newington, Registered August 17, 1910, Registrar is James Young, registrar. Could be that the A Maidwell at 8 Garnham Street is Annie's grandfather.... present at the registration.... OR could be that he is Arthur Maidwell Annie's father and that he and Minnie reside at 8 Garnham.... As for Annie's Dad Arther.... see below....
Info on Arthur's (that's Annie's dad) Born in district of Stamford Hill, Registered in Hackney, Middlesex b Dec. 1883, Name Arthur, Boy, Mother Mary Ann Maidwell, chambermaid, Father ....... blank, X marks the signature of Harriet Mary Maidwell, present at the birth.. underneath her name a comment i cannot quite read... something like 1 Frederick Assoc or ??? It's blurry. Registered January 4, 1884, registrar Yokes or something like that... also blurry.

Lol, something fishy!! (groan!)
Couldn't see a Maple marriage (in case of another Arthur & Minnie)... I would think getting the 1884 birth Cert. for Arthur would be a good idea...(not sure if you have that, but you seem to have a lot of addresses)
Chris :)
edits to add, when you say "the one you have is Caroline Cottages", are you referring to another birth Cert.?)

Looks good, even if it is Latimer Road. Was the second child born as Maidwell or Maple?
Added: It was Maidwell (second child), so were they trying to hide? Debtors?

There is no Garnham Close showing in 1911. Thus they are hidden. Incorrect spelling of address, their name, combination of factors. What was his occupation, as we can try a search that way also? Thanks

I don't think they were hiding........ I think the street called Garnham Close that Ozibird listed above sounds like it could be the correct street. They were newlyweds.... expecting their first child July 1910. The puzzle slowly evolves.... the search goes on.

I was vaguely looking at addresses in 1911, and clicking on households. A couple are down as Mr Smith and Mrs Smith. Makes identification rather difficult. So with not clear Garnham and mis-spelt Maidwell it is quite easy to hide.

Garnham Close sounds like a possibility. Its the closest thing to Garnham I've seen so far...... Thanks...
I know they had a child in July 1910 and another in 1912..... Arthur dies of TB in 1913 or 1914...... Can't imagine why they are not included in 1911 census...

Hi Patchem~ This is interesting. On the actual birth certificate the address is 8 Garnham Road.... but on the transcribed paperwork from ancestry the address is 8 Garingham Rd....... this paperwork also shows a spot marked on a map showing the location is in a triangular area between High Road, Evening Road, and Northwood (or Northworld) Road. A bit blurry. This is in the area called Stokes Newington, North Hackney. I wonder if perhaps the roads have been renamed....
Also... I believe they moved to Garnham (sp?) Road at the end of 1910.... so that may be why they are no longer at Bolyn Rd in 1911.
Hi Chris~ This is also interesting. Most of the information is in alignment with what i already know. Arthur Maidwell is the son of Mary Ann Maidwell and the birthplace is Hackney. However the birth year is off on the transcribed part.... yet looks correct on the image..... I have Dec. 1883 as well. There are so many Arthur Maidwells b 1883 or 1884... difficult to determine which one. The one you listed above lives on Shacklewell Lane in Hackney... I also have one in Hackney, the address is Caroline Cottages number 5. There is another one in Clapton, West Hackney. Arthur died in 1913 or 1914..... I wonder if there is an obituary somewhere.... maybe there would be additional information on it.
