With all of the help.... I have found all of the children and most of the grandchildren of Jessie and George.

Jessie Edith is the Grandmother.

Her daughter Iris L b1932 marries Arthur Stanford in 1955.

They are the parents of Adam Stanford b1964.

Yes... the actual image says Annie.... but the A is messy... kinda looks like an H.

Minnie is George's Sister....as is Annie.

Don't know where Arthur and Minnie are in 1911 census.... but...
In 1910 they have one child and in 1912 they have another child....
Arthur does pass away in 1914.

Jessie Edith would have been 59 when she had Adam Stanford. Are you sure it is the same woman?

Grandchildren of Jessie Catherine Elizabeth (Berles) Thompson and George Thompson that i am trying to locate.
There may be additional Grandchildren.... these are the names I have found so far:
Joan Thompson.... b 1927 Children of Albert Thompson
Joyce Thompson...b 1928

Beryl V. Ablitt.........b 1926 Child of Bertha Thompson

Joan Hewston .......b 1924 Children of Jessie Edith Thompson
Iris L. Hewston.......b 1932

Adam Stanford ......b 1964 Child of Jessie Edith @ second marriage

Have not found children for Iris Thompson and William Elves or
Charles Thompson.... perhaps Charles did not marry??

Now going to work on finding those grandchildren of Jessie and George.

1. Yes, this is how freebmd displays the birth, marriage, or death index. In the marriages there are two or maybe more people depending on how many were recorded on that page of the register.

Explanation: The index is listed in quarters. So marriages registered in the April-May-June quarter will display as Jun. This is good to remember if a couple married in late December but registered in January. The marriage will be recorded in the March quarter of the next year. It is the same for births & deaths.

The 2nd line starts with the person's surname, then their given (or Christian) names. From the March quarter of 1912 the partner's surname is included in the index next. Before then you have to use other means to work out the partner if you don't already know. This also goes for the mother's surname in birth registrations from Sep quarter 1911.

Next comes the registration district, then the volume and page number. These last 2 are important if you wish to order a certificate from the General Register Office which you can do online from anywhere in the world.


2. An annuitant is someone on a pension. Something like modern day superannuation.

Does the above mean that Iris Olive Thompson married William R Elmes?
He is called Elmes William R Thompson.... she is called Thompson Iris O Elmes.... seems unclear to me.


What is an annuitant?

Staffslass: You have the 1911 census and the names of the children..... now I need the names of their children and i need to find out if any are stiill living.

Rootgatherer: Jessie's husband George had a sister Minnie who married the Maidwell. Minnie was my grandmother and she married Arthur Maidwell. I don't know why they are not in the 1911 census...... Minnie's husband Arthur passed away in 1914.

Ozibird: I also found the Jessie Caroline documents to be confusing.

I do not know about a Cyril born to this couple.

Annie (Wills) Thompson was the mother of George (Jessie's husband)
also of Minnie (who married Arthur Maidwell) and also of Annie (who married George Garman).

Minnie was not short for anything as far as I know... it was her name.... Minnie married Arthur Ernest Maidwell and had two children. .. Annie Dorothy Maidwell and Arthur Ernest Maidwell. I know about them.
Annie married George Garman and had a son Albert Garman.... I knew him as well. Jessie and George and their children and grandchildren are my focus. I have the names of their children.... and a few of the grandchildren.... want to gather all of the grandchildren and perhaps see if any are living.

So... Jessie and George Thompson were my great aunt and uncle.
and
Some of their grandchildren may still be living.
I will try looking on the free BMD index.

I'm trying to figure out how to search for them.
