The birth cert would but she gave her birthday as 20th March when she went to Canada but she must have knocked a couple of years off her age for some reason as there are no Iris's with that surname born in 1929 |

From everything you guys had done already (I saw that about Cromwell Road back a page too), it certainly sounded like that was the right Iris. And from there it seems a pretty certain chain from Iris's husband to the person I've found contact info for and sent to David. |

I have copies of Kellys directories for 1966 and 1972 and Iris's husband was showing at 19 Cromwell Rd then. Have pm'd David. They only give householder not the names of others living there but have offered to go to the library to look at electoral registers if needed |

Thats strange Julie maybe they came back? Hopefully David is going to try and make contact through a cousin...perhaps the best idea considering |

I wondered about that too just hypothetically -- people did return after emigrating. (My gr-grparents spent several years and had two kids in Australia before going back to England and then coming to Canada!) |

I have been to the library today looking at the Kellys and electoral registers, Iris and husband John first show on the ER 1952-3 living with her parents at 60 Cromwell Rd. From 1953-55 Iris and John are not with them. 1956-1958 Iris and John at 19 Cromwell Rd. After that, nothing. In 1959 another family are living at 19 Cromwell. |

its very tricky jax, is there any 1 who can do a trace in canada or is it to difficult, |

|
jax | Report | 12 Apr 2011 12:52 |
I think the only way of tracing is this white pages which we already tried. They like to keep everything secret these Canadians. |

You can't trace people in Canada the way you can in the UK, in particular by the electoral roll. It's a criminal offence to disclose information from the electoral roll equivalent, here! |
