I am still trying to find out if James Everitt died before Annie took up with Horace/James

Ok so he was born 1860ish could you tell us his occupation and fathers name and occupation please

As I said Annie still says married in 1901 rather than widowed. Is there a reason why he should die in Billericay and his age alter by 3 years?

James Everitt was a Bricklayer.
On marriage certificate he was 37 in 1897 so he would have been born around.1860, his father was James Burfrey (this is what it looks like) Everitt also a bricklayer and they lived at 44 Liddington Road West Ham

I thought it might be him. I saved this information yesterday.

These are the baptisms of 6 of James and Catherine's children. The 7th one is Ernest born in 1870. James Thomas and John were baptised on the same day but there is no evidence to suggest that they were twins. I can find evidence of all of the other children in the census records except for John. Are we to assume therefore that the child who died as noted in the 1911 census is John. This would mean that James Thomas is still alive in 1911.

Johns death.....not seeing a birth though nearest I can see is a John Everist west ham 1863

I think you are right Jax. I feel sure that he is still alive in 1911 which is why Annie didn't marry Mr. Rutherford (Horace or Henry) whoever he might be. Quite frankly I don't think we are ever going to find out who he was with so little to go on.

Is there any reason that Beatrice went to Australia? Did she have family there............. is it possible that is where her father was?

It is all very confusing isn't it?
No Beatrice had no family in Australia. She entered Australia in 1928 on the SS Osterley as an experienced domestic emigrant, she was 20 years of age. She did say that times were very hard in England.
