I helped on your thread yesterday and have been trying to find Eliza with her parents for you all day. Still no luck!!

On the 1901 census you say she is with her sister. This could be her sister in law. Jane was married to Robert Martin in London, his father being Lewis Martin of Suffolk.

Is also says on the 1901 census that Eliza Burt is single, it dos'nt say widow.

Now Eliza says she is from Peckham Surrey but that could have just been where she has come from and not where she was born!

My question is could she have been a Bainbridge? and it was read as Bambridge?

I have also looked for an AlbertBamnbridge/Bainbridge
and cannot find one! I did find a John Bambridge married to a Jane and this census reads John but is transcribed as Albert but has been corrected by a David Bambridge last year hence the name change in brackets.

I also found a marriage between a Jane Davis and John Bambridge in 1869 but I think Jane was a widow as on one census she is with a child of hers under the name of Charles Davis 1862.

I shall put this info on your thread and see if anyone else can find this and work it out.

James and Frederick are verbal leads and liekwise I am struggling to find anything for Eliza before her marriage.

I am trying to find out of there is any truth in the two children, but have so far drawn a blank. But being so new I didn't know if it was me being blond!

I looked up the marriage and saw the actual form with all the details on it. thats how I found the witnesses.

Am having trouble finding Elizabeth before her marriage though.

The names of the witnesses are on the original of the marriage record on London Parish Records on Ancestry.

RutlandBelle - Benjamin Blake was born in Thornham Magna on 20.04.1875. He married twice that I am aware of - once to Eliza in 1902 and then to Ethel Lummis (Nee Davey) in 1907. I have the 1911 Census Record, this is where I found that Benjamin and Eliza had had 2 children - Violet and Cissy .... it's Eliza's former life that causing me the confusion as James and Frederick do not show as being with Eliza in the 1901 Census (where Eliza is living with her sister Jane in Wickham Skeith). History hey!!!!

Eliza died in 1907, I believe of Meningitis and I am guessing it would have been near Thornham Magna / Wickham Skeith in Suffolk (where all my family are from). Eliza moved to Suffolk following the death of William (at which point I can find no trace of the children!), she remarried in 1902 to Benjamin Blake (my GG Grandfather).

I have death records for William Burt - Jul / Aug / Sept 1900 Wandsworth.
