You need to find Mary Ann on 1861 and 1871 census to hopefully find her parents. |

Deceased by 1899, so the list of deaths from 1856 to 1899 are : |

So the Mary Ann born c1885 is irrelevant, and the Mary Ann born 1856 can't be the daughter of William born 1867. |

The Mary Ann Short who married Thomas Harris was born c1860 so the William Ewin born 1867 couldn't be her father. |

If Mary Ann was born in 1855/6 and married thomas harris 1880 she would have been 25 and she later married a Thomas short he died after having 3 children and on the next marriage certificate it stated her as mary ann Harris but its showing William Ewin as her father (deceased) |

Lynda, a word of advice - don't get too caught up with exact names. Old writing can be difficult to read and names often get trnscribed incorrectly. Also, the person who wrote the entry put what he heard which could be quite different to what was said. |
