my father Eric was born in 1941 BALLYMOTE County Sligo
emigrating to Australia in the early 70's
his mother was a twin Lilli DOOHILL- Tressa her sister also from Ballymote
their parents names- Michael & Annie DOOHILL -1870 ish- 8 kids??

Thank you very much I really appreciate the effort you went to for me.
I am a learner I have a tiny idea of how to go about things but even most of that turns out to be the "wrong way up a one way Street" (so to speak)
So any help or secrets you may want to pass on would never go unused or unappreciated..

I just came across your post whilst doing some research on the family tree. I am Teresa Doohills grand-daughter. My mother, Annie, named after her grandmother, was an only child who passed away last year. My granny lived in Riverstown, Sligo and passed away January 1994. Teresa was your grandmothers Lilly’s identical twin. It’s lovely to see your post as I have heard Lilly’s name mentioned over the years plus the other sisters Josie & Agnes. They also had a brother who died young during the troubles in Ireland. Hope to hear from you. All the best. Welcome to the boards, Denise.

If Ashley doesn't reply immediately, don't give up hope. It has been known (anecdotally) for messages to be answered weeks or even months later.

When you send a private message, GR notifies the person that there is a message for them in the GR system, which they then have to access.
There are many reasons why he/she may not reply - change of email address not notified to GR, as Erika mentioned; having lost interest in family tree research in the meantime; illness or incapacity; death; GR's notification going to junk mail and not noticed by the recipient, or assumed to be some sort of scam.

But you never know - you may be lucky!
