Thanks for all the help I have received. I have notified GR of the elongated page and the change of date. I would also say that I have copied all the infromation received regarding my Great Grandfather just to be on the safe side.
May I now request your help again in trying to locate other members of my On 1851 census :
John Daniel Bond - father born 1822 Elizabeth nee Brett born 1821 John age 7 George age 5 Louisa age 3 Benjiman age 1
On 1861 census
John Bond Elizabeth Bond Maria Louisa born 1848 Isabella born 1852 Charles born 1855 Frederick 1858 my GGF Nathan born circa 1865
I cannot find anyone on 1871 census but I do know that Frederick joined the Army at the age of 15 and Nathan likewise. and I can find them on the 1901 census.
But I cannot find no further trace of John Senior, John Junior, George, Benjamin, Maria, Isabella and Charles on either the census or the lists of deaths.
There is a possibility that Elizabeth was in the St Pancras Workhouse in 1871 and possibly Nathan in 1881 at St Pancras Workhouse in Watford. It looks as if Nathan joined the army in 1881 when he was of an age to join..
I would really like to know what happened to the other siblings and would appreciate some help.
Thanks

Has anyone noticed that the date is completely his thread?????
It should read Sept 2011 NOT Feb 2/3 2011.
I wonder if thats where it all went wrong?

because the only way that threads are deleted is if the originator of the thread deletes them
if you somehow saw two exactly identical versions of your thread in your thread list or some such that was just a glitch in this stupid system, there was only one thread
if you do ever delete by accident ( harder to do now that the system has a prompt before deleting ) use your back-page function immediately and it will take you to the page of the thread you were on before you deleted so you can copy what is there
also for future reference, as the 'please read before posting' thread at the top of the board says, new threads should not be started for closely related members of a family, continuing the questions in a single thread means that the background information is there for helpers to see ... it also means that people who have already helped will see there is something new when they look at their 'my threads' list and that is to your advantage :-)
google's cached version of the thread will not last forever so I strongly recommend that you copy the information that is there now so you can keep it !

I am a little bemused as to why it is thought that I deliberately deleted my thread with all the hard work that others have done form me. Yes there is a wealth of information but my new question is about other members of the family that I have been unable to find. What happened was my thread was showing in duplicate and I deleted one copy. When I went to enter the remaining or so I thought, there was nothing there. I even went onto chat to ask if there was anything I could do.
I will say that I am very grateful for the return of my thread and would thank you whole heartedly.
Josie.

you found your other thread and deleted it ?

ipsjo 1 Feb 2011 16:30 Can anyone help me. I am trying to find my GGF, not much is known about him, other than his name. His son was born in Cork in 1882 names George Frederick Bond. Married to Frances Robinson in 1909. Not sure if my GGF was of Irish descent because it has been said that he also was in the army and could have served in both Ireland & India. Would really like to know where GGF was born, who he was married to and if my grandfather had any siblings. Hope someone can help. Thanks
why did you delete it with all the work people did and information they posted there ?
it was 3 pages long ...
I guess you have figured out that threads don't get lost ... unless you deliberately delete them ... and you can always find them by clicking on 'my threads' over on the left side ...
such a lot of work, such a wealth of information, and you have deleted it and want to start over again ??
I have to say that I don't think many people will want to do that ...
the link I posted above is to the first page
the other two pages can still be read, here

also ... again I don't understand why send PM to answer a question ... is it answered ? other posters don't know whether the thread is completely settled now ...

I am trying to discover some more information regardisng my Great Grandfathers family.
On 1851 census :
I have found an Elizabeth in the St Pancras Workhouse in 1871 and possibly Nathan in 1881 at St Pancras Workhouse in Watford.
Is there anyone who could guide me as to where to look.
Thank you

Sorry, if you look at the top of the page where family tree, search records, hot matches...there should be messages...where you will see a little white envelope, that means you have a private message. Click on it please.

I am trying to trace details of my greatgrandfather Frederick Bond born 1858 and his brother Nathan Bond born about 1865 Army records. They are both from the St Pancras area of London and lived their later years in Fulham, London. It seems that they both had careers in the army as Frederick's children were born in various places around the world.. I would really appreciate your help as I am quite new to this
