	Where were they from? 	This is the nearest death I can find:- Name: Hugh Proctor Estimated birth year: abt 1867 Year of Registration: 1895 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec Age at Death: 28 District: Barnsley County: Yorkshire - West Riding Volume: 9c Page: 138 However this would mean that Hugh was not Benjamin's father. I think you will need Benjamin's birth certificate to see if a father is named on it. He could have been illegitimate. Kath. x

	don't forget, the child of a married woman was considered to be the son of her husband, even if he was dead. I think the longest interval that I have seen between death of husband and birth of a child with his surname was 10 years! sylvia

	and Lizette must have been married before?? she's on the 1881 census as Lizette Green, but she married Hugh Proctor as Mellor sylvia

	so she was Mary's child before she married Abel. I coudn't find a marriage for Lizette, and wondered if that was the case. sylvia

	Welcome to the boards, Gill. Unfortunately you have replied to an old thread (2011), and Carole won't be looking here for replies now. You can try contacting her by sending a private message (just click on her name at the top of her post.)
