No probs Tempest - just with Linda thinking Beryl didn't die till May, was wondering if I should be looking for her as a patient somewhere - but looks like death date on army records you posted was correct and she died pre-census , in first quarter of 1911. |

Thanks everyone I can now complete my grandfathers siblings. My Gramps was Frank Alexander He was born 7th May 1907 and was christened in the Church of St Mary in the Castle on 9th June 1907. Here is where it gets complicated. When my Gramps applied for a passport he had quite a lot of problems because although he had a baptism certifcate he had no birth certificate. He tried to apply for it at the records office only to find there was no record of his birth. The upshot is we have never been able to find a birth certificate. It may be that he was born at sea.He use to rock side toside in he sleep and her told me that it was mimicking the motion of the boat that he mum was on when she was pregnant with him?? |

when I tried to order a birth certificate using this I was told there was only a baptism record. In Dover castle itself there is a record in a glass case of his baptism but no record of his birth. |

There are some on here who specialise in military records. Perhaps you coul edit your title to alert them to Castledine military birth or something. |
