David, if you don't have the marriage certificate then I would buy that to get the names of the bride and groom's fathers and their occupations. That will may sure that you are tracing back the correct people. I am assuming that on Gerald's birth certificate that John Little and Doris are given as his parents?

So much for my tiny mind to take in!, i know know her dob,birth place and mother/father and her brother
i would like to keep going with the famiy tree but seem to relying on others to find the facts ,should i be doing something differant to search? as i cant keep asking for every family member who crops up!

Rootgatherer, i can only assume at this stage that my father (gerald little/leckenby) that doris and john are listed as his parents,as these are the names given to me by him,i think it may be wise to check on this though? my dad may have his birth certificate so thats saves me £10!

None of us like the expence of having to purchase certificates David, but if you are not 100% certain it is the only way to go.
