Tempest and Jansmith Thank you both for all the extra information. That certainly looks like the family in 1871,so it gives me the parents names and more about the origins of the family. It seems that Max snr only became a publican through his wife,Harriet.. A lot seems to tie in now. Max junior married a dancer,a 'Tiller Girl'...now I know they probably met as the pub was in the Haymarket where the theatres are. Also he became a sort of publican...had the club at \Battersea Funfair.and several of the fair rides too. Could be that if his fgrandather was a traveller.maybe connected to fairs?? You have given me so much to go on. Thank you very much Lara

Tempest Thank you..just been and looked. So she wasn't English either.. I found Max senior's death in 1916, wonder if May Eleanor had to become British to take over the Public House? Lara Just noticed it says re admission to British Nationality? I found her birth...1886 Chatham Kent. Could she have changed citizenship on marriage?

No problem.
The enumerators book and list are really useful if you are trying to see if other members of the family/ future spouses are living nearby or if there are other streets mentioned to locate a now demolished house, (or if you're just plain nosey like me lol)

Oh, I feel stupid now!! Have not even noticed this bit at the top of the image where you can see the enumerators books. I was only looking at the actual scanned image and not the bit of the page above that. Still, you learn something new every day!!.
Thanks again.

Ahhh, I see now. You are using Ancestry, which I haven't used before for the 1911 census. I was using Findmypast and could not find this information on there. Thanks.
