PS family search beta has records of births to Richard and Mary both in Manchester (with middle name aneley) and in Skipton. The dates conflict with baptisms taking place at the same time so likely that they were two different couples otherwise they would have been constantly back and forward between Manchester & Skipton and seeing as there appeared to be triplets in John, Samuel & Richard Jr that would seem even more unlikely with the sheer number of children involved. |

hi, thanks everyone for the replies, I still cannot get concrete evidence that links Richard and Mary as parents of Walton, in respect of if Richard was from Yorkshire. I also have birth records from some of their children including John and Mary, both of whom have the middle name of Aneley, confirming my Richard and mary (Aneley) as their parents but nothing else. Thanks annette for the info about ages being rounded down on the 1841 census, I didn't know that. I too thought that Mary might have been born in Broughton in Furness but still no evidence of that Mary linked with Richard. |

Ages on 1841 Census were rounded down and so Richard could have been born between 1787 and 1791. Mary is shown as born in Lancashire and familysearch pilot site shows: |

You state Richard Tennant bc.1791 Lancashire/Manchester. However, the 1841 Census for Manchester shows Richard was not born in Lancashire. Under 'Born in County' it states N for no. |

Hi folks, trying to find details of my 4xgreat grandfather Richard Tennant birth c1791 lancashire / manchester who married Mary Aneley birth c1791 and had at least 11 children including my 3x grandfather Walton tennant b1830 Manchester d1886 Manchester, who's widow and some children emigrated to Chicago. Seems ridiculous that I cannot find any further details for Richard & Mary seeing as there are so many records for their children. any help is much appreciated. I Have extensive info on both the Tennant and Leicester family with some certificates and photographs. |
