Susan, I am looking on Ancestry for a possibly death for Lily between 1940 and 1948 and I am stuggling to find any that fit the area and the possible birth year for Lily.

Yes, I found the other thread, and I suggest you wait until you get the cert for George's marriage to Alice.

It will tell you if he was widowed - or divorced.

Also, if you're getting the marriage cert for Lily, it will tell you her declared age at the time
