Hi Trevor
The Help Clinic has actually closed now but I think we can still work on the threads that were open at the time. I think I looked for Thomas Bray's parents at the time but couldn't locate them but I will take another look for you. The problem is that he gives his birth place as Truro and I can't find a baptism located anywhere near there.

Bray Frederick M Head M Jan 1883 28
Bray Louise? F Wife M Dec 1882 28

They're in Wentworth, Ontario, both born England and emigrated 1907.

TREVOR

TREVOR Report 24 Nov 2010 14:57

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 23 Nov 2010 18:04

The 1891 census doesn't say born Avon, it says Not Known.

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 23 Nov 2010 17:48

But the marriage was 1830, first child born 1831.
1851 census also says son Thomas born London.

TREVOR

TREVOR Report 23 Nov 2010 17:45

TO MARGARET'
YOU ARE CORRECT 1881 CENSUS SAID SON THOMAS BORN PADDINGTON 1891 CENSUS SAYS THOMAS WAS BORN IN AVON

TREVOR

TREVOR Report 23 Nov 2010 17:24

NO THE CENSUS IS SPOT ON BUT I DO NOT THINK THE MARRIAGE IS

WOULD THEY HAVE HAD ALL THOSE CHILDREN BEFORE MARRIAGE

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 23 Nov 2010 17:18

You said that was him on the 1881 census and it shows son Thomas was born Paddington.

As for whether or not Susanna's name had an h at the end means nothing. Remember most people couldn't read or write then, spelling was not important.

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 23 Nov 2010 17:15

Are you saying that the 1851 census that was posted is not your family? Thomas was born Cornwall, Susanna Devonshire, children Thomas & Harriet born London, Ellen & Emma Cornwall, Sophie Lambeth, Henry & Louisa Paddington

TREVOR

TREVOR Report 23 Nov 2010 17:07

Hi'
Ido not think this is the marriage Thomas jnr was born in Avon near bristol and Susannah came from Mary Taivy in Devon all the records spell her name with an H on the end

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 23 Nov 2010 16:56
