Thank you for the offer Tracey. I have a Alexander McFarlane who was born 3rd Sep 1799 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire mothers name Janet Ure. Also a marrage for Alexander McFarlane who married a Agnes Houston on 13 Jan 1822 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire. I would love any type of certificate. I have recently asked for advise and information on Alexander on trying to find but would love any additional info. Also on his daughter agnes. Hope this is not too much.

Margaret
Tracey started this thread after Help Clinic was in operation, but people were not getting much help on there, including the fact that there were no helpers overnight or for long periods during the day.
She realised she had these credits that were going to go to waste, and was bored (very important!) ............... so she decided to use her credits to help people
... and gave the thread the ironic title of Help Clinic - A Fully Working One
Anyway, Help Clinic no longer exists! You may find your thread in My Favourites, and it may lead to the thread ......... but I'm pretty certain that you will get no replies.
GR made the announcement this morning on Facebook that they were suspending HC ...... replacing with a Board that tells members how to use the site, and acknowledging that all the help is given by volunteers.
Gold Stars are gone ..... thank heavens, as they really caused much unhappiness.
Here's the posting from FB:-
Genes Reunited Thank you to everyone who has given feedback regarding the trial of the Help Clinic. We are currently collating feedback and in the meantime will be removing the Help Clinic page. The suggestions we receive from members greatly influence the decisions we make for the site. We will shortly be sending out a survey for su...ggestions as to how we can improve the message boards and will look forward to your feedback. 14 hours ago

I am going away for a few days. I hope this is all sorted when I come back. Where ARE these Starred people? How do we find them? They seem to have gone.

I am getting confused with all this Help Clinic Stuff. Am I the only one? I doubt it. I go onto Help Clinic and it leads me to Trying to Find etc. Where do I go to find the golden team of Help Clinic Advisers? I don't particular want them, just want to know where they are.

Hi Margaret
Yes, Tracey is using credits that she bought with her own money, but she had some left over that she couldn't use before they ran out
........ so she's very kindly offered to use them to help other people.

Tracey, do I get the drift that you are not even a Star? Are the SP credits ones you have paid for yourself?
In that case you are a proper Star.
Love
Margaret

Thanks for the offer Tracey. First positive thing to come out of this new system. Spare credits!
James Turley m Bridget Hargeton, Glasgow, 29 Jan 1856, parents Bernard Turley and Elizabeth Cook (surname not 100% clear) and Owen Hargiton and Judith McCask (surname not 100% clear). Bridget Hargiton b Ireland c 1834. Children of Owen and Judith are Catherine 1825, Bridget 1834, Beatrice 1837.
Children of James Turley and Bridget are Elizabeth 1856, Mary 1858, Catherine 1861 and James Francis 1866, all born Glasgow.
I am missing:
Marriage of Catherine Turley to John Allan McDonald. First child born 1888 Dulwich, Surrey, so marriage may not have been in Scotland.
Birth of John Allan McDonald (none shown on any census), c 1861, no marriage, no birth, no parents. No idea where born. Could be Scotland, could be Ireland, no record in England and Wales.
Thanks
Madmeg
EDIT can post you any of the records to save you using credits. Let me know if you want them.
EDIT - still worried about Tracey. Am moving this request to a new thread as it seems to have gone cold.

Justine,
Because of the recency of your enquiry it would be impossible to accurately tell you whom their children would be.
Access to birth images stop at 1909, so it would be impossible to give you any info at all...
It'll have to wait until 2011 for the 1911 census, I have the same problem :-(

Hi Tracey What a kind offer. If you still have time & credits could you help with birth details of one of my families? I'm struggling to track down the births of James DICK, his wife Ann TAYLOR and their daughter Janet.
Ann TAYLOR -Searching for her birth/christening record, census puts her birth date around 1783-1786, probably in Falkirk, Stirlingshire. Ann married James DICK on 4 Jun 1804 Glasgow (I have the OPR image). Ann may be the daughter of Thomas TAYLOR and Janet SORLEY (according to an online tree, but I have not been able to verify this. Have found other children of this couple baptised Falkirk). She appears as Ann DICK with her daughter's family in Falkirk on census' 1841, 1851, 1861 (her daughter is Janet CLARK (nee DICK))
James DICK was a baker in Glasgow. But where and when was he born? I have found 2 marriages for him, firstly to Jean McADAM 27 Nov 1791 Glasgow, later to Ann TAYLOR 4 Jun 1804 Glasgow (I have the OPR images of both marriages, James described as a baker, no parents named). James probably died before 1841, he does not appear with wife Ann DICK on any census.
Janet DICK - I believe she was the daughter of James DICK and Ann TAYLOR, born in Glasgow around 1810 to 1812 (from age in census). She married William CLARK in Falkirk 22 Jul 1834. Appears as Janet CLARK in Falkirk on census 1841 – 1881. I have not found a christening for Janet DICK, (or any other children of James DICK & Ann TAYLOR)
Would greatly appreciate any help with this family. Many thanks Anne

Hi Michael,
I haven't been able to find anything more than you already have. I assume you have the census details?
You should really also remove your email address and PM it to me (click my name) it's against the t&C's here to leave personal information like that on a thread.
