Thanks Ann of Green Gables, I'll have to look at these to see if there's a connection. |

Thanks Mike, I've looked at this over and over and this is the only solution I can come up with. How do I prove it though? |

Thanks Flick. I wondered because in the 1901 census there's a William Tipping, right age, shown in a lodging house in Liverpool. |

I am trying to find out what happened to William Tipping. He was my husband's great grandfather. I know for sure that his parents were John Tipping and Ellen Layton. In 1861 & 1871 census his birth is given as 1853 in Allerton, Liverpool - he's living with his parents and siblings. In searching for his birth I only found one for a William Tippin in W. Derby, 1852, and another for Topping in Liverpool, 1854. I'm checking these out to see if parents match up. William married Mary Jenion in 1874 but I couldn't find him in 1881 census. I checked for Mary in 1881 and found her shown as widow lodging in Greenwood St. with a Heaton family and her son, John Henry Tipping. I then looked for a death for William but none of the deaths matched up. |
