Thanks lancashireAnn. The baptisms seem to match up with all three and the one for William makes me think that the birth I found for William Tippin in Dec qtr. is probably the right one. I've sent for the cert. so hopefully it is. |

all 3 baptisms say living in Allerton and John is described as a labourer. All listed as Tippin. |

Thanks lancashireAnn. I'll probably send for the marriage cert. to get their fathers' names, don't suppose the ref you gave indicated that did it? With everybody's help I'm getting further on than I expected to. |

hi yvonne, I am also a Tipping descendant trying to fathom out the family line. My grandfather was James, a seaman after the army WW1. His father Fred and Grandfather James were watchmakers, but many of the siblings went to sea in 19th and 20th century.I think james circa 1820 may have been a son of Joannis but not sure. He had several children including sons called Robert, Richard and Ed(?) I believe Richard married and emigrated to Australia.I would like to see any other Tipping trees please and hope someone can help me fill in some gaps. thank you for any replies. bex |

remember that early parish records were written with latinised names so Joannis is actually John. |

Thanks for the info lancashireAnn, I didn't know about the latinised names and I've seen a lot of references to Joannis. It'll be interesting to see what info the birth and marriage certs I've ordered give. |
