I have a long line of Nathaniel Dartnell 'sfrom 1800 onwards who lived Deptford /Greenwich and were Barge builders. would these be covered by the records .please

Hi I would be very grateful for the names of the Hutchinsons Thankyou for that offer. I am also interested in the Greenwood family one of theses had an apprentice to a William Ward in Liverpool but then nothing maybe some of this family were lightermen Sheila

have found a Charles Mills ind 9/4/1818 hungerford to Thomas Mills Rel 28/4/1825 N0 6135

Hi Selena here is a list of some Mills with there indenture and release dates, along with the Masters names

6210. MILLS RICHARD 12/12/1844 ROTHERHITHE WILLIAM JOHN HOWARD 08/01/1852

6211. MILLS THOMAS 14/10/1841 ROTHERHITHE WILLIAM ARTIN CORNISH 11/01/1849

will look at other dates too

John Newcomb Ind 14/3/1871 to William Wood at Gravesend Rel 11/4/1876 No 4849

also John Newcomb as Master to John Crighton Ind 14/5/1878 at All Hallows rel 13/11/1883 No 1661
could be the same person as he had been released in 1876 and therefore bacame a master

Charles Henry Maynard ind 11/12/1777 to Charles Maynard at Lambeth No 6085 Released 13/1/1785

William Nash b 1842 Rotherhithe
Thomas Nash b 1820 Rotherhithe
William Nash b 1786 Rotherhothe ( shown as Lighterman and later Waterman)
Thomas Nash b 1847 Rotherhithe

Grateful for any details found.

Hi Debbie, thanks for the kind offer. I have a few ancestors who apparently worked on the river. They come from Rotherhithe mostly.

John Poole 1903 - 1970
Charles Poole 1799 - 1874

Thomas Mills 1826
Charles Mills 1792

Any info you find is much appreciated,

Thank you for your generous offer.

Please could you look to see if John NEWCOMB born 1855 is listed.
In the 1871 census for Hackney he is listed as a pilots apprentice.

Thank you could you look for a Charles Maynard he was born in circa 1770 so bindings possible from 1784

Lightermnan and a history of these through the generations upto my father.

Area of living would be Surrey/London/

Thanks for that offer I am not sure it his person worked on the Thames but his name is Benjamin Bortis Hutchinson date of birth 1778? and lived at Wapping Wall Sorry I have just found my paperwork he was a shipwright GOOD lUCK Sheila
