Is it possible for anyone to do a look-up for Joseph Besant on the 1911 census? I am unable to access it with my membership.
Thank you.

Hi everyone,
I recieved Frederick and Kathleens marriage certificate this morning so any help in progressing my search would be greatly appreciated...
Father's names for Frederick Besant and Kathleen Clements are as follows:
Joseph Besant, (deceased) his profession is noted as Laborer.
George Clements, his profession is harder to read but I think that it says Engine Driver.
I would be very grateful for any help.
Thank you,
Chevaun.

I found out from my grandfather today that his father may have had an Irish background, possibly born in Ireland?... Could this be why I am having difficulty locating birth details for him?

Looking for info on GR is not recommended........better to have a BASIC membership, and use other - better - sites for research.

You're welcome. We are all on an upward learning curve :-)

I have Bessant in my family, not the same branch though unfortunately.

Happy hunting.

you register free . tick the box in that asks if the GRO ref if known.
this is what you need copied from page 1 on this thread from Sylvia
GRO ref
Marriages Mar 1930

you only need to put one of the names in ,so order for Kathleen Clements OR Frederick W Besant
so

ONLY buy from the GRO as other sites rip you off with the price ,they buy fron the GRO and pass on to you at an inflated cost!

Fathers' names are on marriage certificate - that's why you are advised to buy it to help confirm correct person.

Thanks Shirley, that could well be Doll as there is the Kent connection again.
Can you advise how I would check whether Kathleens father was mentioned on her Marriage certificate? It would be good to confirm his name...
