1881 i wonder if it is connected to the family below (Taylor) who's address is just The Green? or going back a page Hampton House because although the house is "to let" the lodge etc are occupied

Maybe the owners were away at the time the census only showed who was in the house that night
Looking at FMP there is only the 4 servants so ancestry has joined 2 houses together. It could well be the servants qtrs for the big house or something to do with the army barracks that was there

Thank you to all.

But it does look as if Ancestry have got this entry wrong. It clearly shows that Herrington, Warren, Cheese and Townshend ONLY are occupying the property??

And also, why would four servants be on their own in what I know to be a substantial six bedroomed house I wonder?

What do you think?? All replies gratefully received.

LOL,Ozi....I'd just meet you there anyway.

A shame there were only servants "at home" in 1881. Wonder who really owned it?

Nicola'S Report 26 Oct 2010 22:11

I need to find out who was living at Prestbury House, Hampton Court Green, Kingston upon Thames in 1881.

I have Ancestry and I'm sure that it was possible to do this, but now I can't find it any more!

Is it me?

Can you help, please?
