also freebmd is showing that John Barnshaw Dutton born 1900 doesnt have mothers maiden name barnshaw. |

On the BMD indexes, the mother's maiden surname is not indexed until around 1912. Your John's birth is registered as John Barnshaw Dutton so he didn't just adopt the Barnshaw after his mother's death. |

thanks for that, not sure elsie's full name was Elsie Adelaide Dutton born 1903, think her parents both died in 1906 so she wouldnt be living with anyone as daughter, in 1911. |

Just checking in and see that we have moved on quite a bit. Glad to see the birth I found for Elsie Adelaide was the correct one. My next check was going to be 1911 for Elsie but I see you've beaten me to it. |
