Hi Lorraine
Floria Spratt b1881ish Chicago.
Father Arthur James Sprat(1862). Mother Alice Finch(1861).
England 1891 Census shows Floria as being born in Chicago although father only an Ag labourer and siblings all born in Kent. Her parents didn't marry until 1888 in Kent.
Can find no record of the family in 1881 census and no birth either. There is a family rumour that something happened in America but thats all.
So perhaps the 1891 Census is correct. I would be most obliged if you could find anything on birth, census or whatever on Floria
Thank you
Gerry :-))

I cant find anything for an elizabeth field on a passenger list for her year of birth have you seached for a marriage for her.
have also tried ellen and elizabeth/ellen raynor but no sign of her on the passenger lists
the child was registered under raynor you say does it have a fathers name on the cert I thought if mother was unmarried the father had to be present to register in his name

1901 was the last census Elizabeth Eleanor Field was shown on. She was enumerated as Ellen Field parlourmaid,in the household of Thomas and E leanor Powell,Brynteg, Blaenhonddan, Neath. Elizabeth's baby was born in Pontypool, Monmouthshire and registered as Edward Richard Raynor and left with her married sister to be brought up. She left 2 months after the birth, and disappeared. regards Gerald

Hi, Lorraine. I would really appreciate a look up for Canada when you have a moment.
I have found a James A. Edwards, born 27.8.1913 in Oswestry (this matches the birth certificate I have) who left for Canada in 1942. It states that he is married and he looks to be travelling alone. His address is in Wrexham.
I am waiting on a english death certificate for James (same name and DOB) to see if it is a match.
What I would like to know is if he travelled back and forth to Canada around that time, 1942 onwards, with his family.
I look forward to your possible findings.
Thank you Lynne
Edit - sorry, Lorraine. I have just looked at the date range you have available and it looks like my query doesn't fit into those. I apologise for not reading it properly. Regards
