Julia the baby may have had her mothers name which was the same as her mother (georgeiana Julia) but she used the name julia.It is all very strange. Stevie has given me the address of another relative will mail him and see if he has anything to add. He may have a marriage cert. You are going to so much trouble , thank you very much

Baby Julia is one month old in 1871. This means she should be registered in Mar or Jun quarters. These are the Julias registered in those two quarters. I just can't find her.

My you have been busy, thank you so much.
I have him in 1871 married to julia in Brighton with 2 children so dont think the 1871 IOW is the right one. also in1881 and 1891. He was recorded as being a carpenter.
I wonder if he was in London when he met her and married her there. Not in brighton at all. There is another Alfonsa Stephens in the IOW parents Issac and Louisa Stephens he was a carpenter but the age doesn,t match too closely.

I think the skeleton in the cupboard may be to do with her father who is absent in 1851, dead in 1861, but no sign of him or his death.

This is a possibility but why have "wife" and "head absent" in 1851?
