On closer inspection of the 1911, it looks as if it was originally written that 2 children were born and 2 living, but they have altered it to 13 born 10 living and 3 died.
something fishy going on and no mistake!

I don't think the Jessie birth we have both found is our Jessie, i think she is the one whom belongs to James & Ellen Dickenson.

I'm going to run some side by side comparisons on Ernest and Jessie's birth....gonna see if i can find 2 with the same surname.

Hmmm.... i've been and done some washing etc, (trying to unpack from my journey's)

You seem to have gotten this a bit further then, well done!

So we think that might have been the right family in 1901 i had found?

It would explain the gap in children too.... 1898 the last then 1904/5 for the next lot to start.

I wonder if James merely got confused and hadn't married Hannah yet, but when asked when he had married he'd filled in the original one date?

It looks like he was JAMES E and the J on the marriage must be a typo or something like. His parents are here in this census
