These could be the children's births. |

I would say the latter is possibly his birth, but have put both findings on the off-chance this is a relation: |

Glenn, marriage is really easy to find, so have a go. You really need to familiarise yourself with the freebmd site as pointed out by Christine as it's easy to use and invaluable for births, marriages and deaths 1837 onwards till about 1940's. |

Everything is coming back to my wife now. |

On the WW1 record image it says that he married Emma Powell. |
Glenn | Report | 30 Aug 2010 09:51 |
Great Tooty Fruity. Emma Powell must have been her first married name, because Melson is correct for her maiden name. We know she was married before William. |
TootyFruity | Report | 30 Aug 2010 09:53 |
It says in the WW1 record that she was a spinster when they married so Powell is her maiden name |
brummiejan | Report | 30 Aug 2010 09:55 |
Powell must be her maiden name as the children have that recorded on the birth entries. |

You need William and Emma's marriage cert to find out if she had been married before as on the children's births her maiden name is Powell. |

My wife's mother always said that her mothers name was Melson, and she did say that her mother had been married before she married William Augustus. Confusing!! |
