I dont know if any other children were born, my mum thought the only children were my Great Nan Ethel and Edward who was born about 1909. They were the youngest.

I will write the ref for Willy, just incase it is him, thankyou Janice.

Janice Report 17 Aug 2010 13:18

Darealjolo Report 17 Aug 2010 13:14

Janice,

Ok i see, i can look on 1911 see which children are there and who isnt, so so far we know 1 deceased child and that is the twin of Frederick, James Walter.
Thankyou for all your help and the image, now ihave the name i will google more.

Just realised: if 'Willy' was 3 in 1901, he cant be the George William christened in 1894 so this could be your 2nd missing child.

Janice

Janice Report 17 Aug 2010 12:15

It was the District Workhouse School in Upper Holloway. Have sent you the image.

Oh ok, you must be able to see Father's name on Ancestry where as i cant here on Genes.
Yes your right, my Great nan was born in Edmonton so was Edward and Walter the 1903 Walter was born in Tottenham.

Janice

Janice Report 17 Aug 2010 10:54

Oh my goodness, I think I might just have found the older children in 1901 in the Workhouse School in Islington!

There's Frederick Jackson 7
Blanche Jackson 5
Willy Jackson 3 (which ties in with George William) ***Edit no it doesnt

They are listed together as inmates, all born Islington.

Hi Joanne,
That Walker one isn't right as the father's name is George Henry.
They didn''t stay in Islington cos if you look at the census, the later children were born elsewhere - was it Tottenham(can't see from here as it's on previous page).

Janice,

Awww how sad but thankyou, now i know 1 name of a child that passed away. Do you think the family stayed in the Islington area? i changed my mind and had a little look for a marriage for Frederick Henry, i found 1 in 1913, may well not be him but it is in Islington, to a Walker, Frederick H Jackson. There are so many.

Janice

Janice Report 17 Aug 2010 10:30

Found it

Deaths Sep 1893
Jackson James Walter 0 Islington 1b 184

Janice

Janice Report 17 Aug 2010 10:28

OK think I've sorted 1 thing out!!

I think Frederick and Walter were twins.
In Q3 of 1893 births

Islington 1b 231 is a James Walter Jackson
Islington 1b 232 is Frederick Henry Jackson

so I think James is at the bottom of one page and Frederick is at the top of the next. Looks like they were twins then and Walter didn't survive infancy. They went on to use the name again in 1903 for another son - presumably they wanted a Walter as it was dad's name.

Janice,

Oh no not your fault, it takes me a while to get the information into my head and understand it clearly. I have problems understanding sometimes lol.
I was going to search for marriages and children from the siblings of my great nan but i give up already before i start lol, too many Jacksons.
Thankyou again for your help. I can now update my tree.

Hi Joanne,

Sorry to have confused you. You can see from the census that Kathleen and Bertha are 2 different people. All I meant was that the addresses were the same for these 2 ie when Bertha was christened, they were still at 22 Cromwell Road.

I assume that the boy christened with frederick is one of the ones who died. I found what I thought was a death at start of 1895 but that was age 0 which doesn't tie in with a baptism in 1893 so back to the drawing board I'm afraid.

Hello Janice,

Thankyou for looking again, you are very kind.
I am now confused though (nothing unusuall) are Kathleen and Bertha the same person? The Baptisms you gave me, they both have different dates.
The 1911 census said there was 10 children, 2 died, so there are
Frederick, Blanche, Kathleen, Bertha, Walter, Ethel, Edward and a George that you found, he isnt on 1911 census, that is 8.
I am having not much luck looking for the vol and page for birth certs, maybe today i will have better luck as was looking for too long yesterday.

Janice

Janice Report 16 Aug 2010 21:43

First two - no dob but it does say 'Private' in the margin.

Second two - no extra info. Still at Rupert road.

Kathleen - now at 22 Cromwell Road

Bertha - as for Kathleen
