you are right that freebmd is usually the best site to use but Lancashire has some good sites all of its own. Not all records are on there but where they are it is v useful as it gives info which can't be found anywhere else |

thanks i never knew that they had three children that died, they have a big family grave in preston Agnes and John William are buried there as well as some of there grand children that died as babies, so they must be buried somewhere else in preston cemetry and its huge will take some findind |

could you please help me with something else if you can.....Thomas Atherton born c1826-1905 he was born in chaigley, Lancashire (this a various spellings on census records) it says on his wedding certificate that is Father was William Atherton he worked as a coal dealer i found a possible record of a William Atherton born c1795 lancashire with children Elizabeth b1823 chaigley and James 1836 chaigley do you think this is the right William???? |

There's only one Atherton with mum's MS=Crook born in Preston whose age in 1871 would be 7, so here's your Sinclair: |
