This looks like a possible as I had found a birth for a Jane Martha Grieves in 1894 and as Isabella's mother was Jane Martha Trotter I now feel this is them. |

Thanks Christine I have found them now. I am now looking for the marriage of William Trotter b 1823 Spittal Northumberland and Jane Shell b1822/23 Holy Island.. Its driving me mad as it has to be somewhere. Their eldest son William was born on the island in Feb. 1848. Can you help |

I had found the 1851 plus all the other census up to 1911. Its just so frustrating not to find the marriage as it would tell me who Jane's father was as I have two possible's and whether William's father was alive which would then give me the correct Sarah as his mother. |
