Thanks anyway Jennifer. I am guessing deaths are always registered? It was most kind of you to do that.....I am thinking one of two things either my MIL was trying to take my wife off the trail so she wouldn't go looking and he isn't dead. Or his surname was Dodds? Maybe we will try for a little while longer. |

Mike I don't want you to waste any money so I looked for a corresponding birth for a Brian Hall as above and there is one registered in Newcastle in 3rd Q of 1939 but mother's maiden name is Henderson. |

Thank you I will try and buy the cert for this one. My MIL has already passed away and would say nothing before she died. There was a lot of hurt of this gentleman. Or should I say the relationship that lead to this gent? |

First off thank you for helping it is very kind of you. We started looking in Hall. We felt because it was a long time ago she might have taken my wife's maiden name. We do know that she never had him adopted as my Father in law paid maintenance.......So he should have! |

No sorry I never explained myself properly. He would have died in 1988ish. He died just before my Father in Law. It could well be the middle one, we were kind of thinking around 1937/8 as the In laws got married in 1939. My wife has no living relatives that knew a lot about him. She only found out his name because her Mother let the name slip. |
