Oh well - What a traumatic day !!

Just got home from several hours at the hospital! - Why can I not have something 'normal' like everyone else !!!!!!!!!!!! :-(

I did joke a couple of times with the nurse and the Doctor when my poorly finger was baffling them that perhaps the answer was 'amputation' - Well, it looks like that might be a possible outcome after all :-S

I had a phone call from the surgery this morning to say that I had to come and see a doctor to discuss the x-ray results. By the time I got there she had already spoken to the hospital and they said they wanted to see me today so off I trotted to the ward, bag packed for a stay (just in case).

It seems that I have an osteolysis infection which is an infection in the bone of my finger causing the swelling etc under my nail.

They let me come home but will be meeting up with the microbiologists and other members of 'the Team' on Monday morning to decide on the next course of action.................. (bone biopsy?, bone removal, etc. etc..) :-(

Why can I not just have a 'normal poorly finger' like most other people??? ;-) :-D :-D

P.S. - I should have said - No need to send me any hugs - I am fine ;-) :-D :-D

Gee Report 27 Jun 2014 15:36

Dea Report 27 Jun 2014 09:34

OOhh - how wonderful Cynths <3 :-D

I do remember how VERY poorly she was at that time - It is amazing that she has recovered so well.

I know that you have played a big part in her recovery and I am so very pleased for both of you.

P.S. - I have just mixed up some batter for you and will cook some lovely pancakes now.

Sugar and lemon is on the side.

Morning all..... :-D

Just a quick visit cos I am running late. Been for blood test - cholesterol and all that stuff.

Notice there are aches and pains on here BUT am really miffed that I missed the pancakes from yesterday.. :-D

Dea's bacon butties are always delish so please may I have one of those - now that my fasting time has ended.......??? :-)

Remember my poorly friend - the one who we really thought wouldn't pull through either physically or mentally a couple of years ago? Well I take her out every couple of weeks or so and.......yesterday.......we went to a garden centre and she WALKED with her wheelie thingey. No pushing of wheelchair or anything. She coped really well and it was good to chat to her at my height rather than having to bend down all the time. So pleased for her.........

Must go again....be good......~~~~

I would not wish anything on you Dea <3

My arthritis is caused by psoriasis and it affects my nails too. They can get raised, very white and pitted........my GP couldn't diagnose it and even the first doc at the specialist clinic didn't know what was causing it

My consultant, knew right away

Dea

Dea Report 26 Jun 2014 18:41

Oh Ginns - don't wish anything else upon me please ;-) :-D :-D - That is one of the few things I haven't got and do not wish to thank you <3

No - It is nothing like that - It seems to me to be some sort of infection (perhaps a fungal infection?) under the nail which is pushing the nail up and distorting it slightly and this, I believe is causing the side of the nail to sort of 'in-grow' causing a lot of pain and inflamation............... Well, that is 'my' diagnosis anyway but none of the ''professionals' have yet come to that conclusion ;-) :-D :-D

I see my own lovely Doctor on the 11th so if it is not better by then, at least she will know what it is and how to sort it :-D

Dea Xxx

Gee

Gee Report 26 Jun 2014 17:44

O need to get this problem sorted Linds <3

Dea, have you considered arthritis? My wrist gets very swollen, red and hot

Dea

Dea Report 26 Jun 2014 12:55

Oh the poor little thing Linds - she really is suffering !

Sounds like DIL is right, something has to be done to sort it for her and it is best that she gets it done before she goes to school or she will miss so much time off that she will find it hard to keep up.

The finger is no better - still swollen, purple, hot and excrutiatingly painful if it touches anything :-( It's not' life-threatening' though so I dare say it willget better one day ;-) :-D

Off to try to finish the ironing................

See you later,

Dea Xxx

I am impressed Dea :-D :-D

Great that appointment has come through at last took them long enough ;-)

Your freezer must be well stocked now. How is you little finger?

Gins are you enjoying your week off?

Today is shopping day :-(

O has an ENT follow up appointment next month Mummy has decided that she should have the op.

She is on meds just now as it has flared up again and it lasts for about 2 weeks every time. She gets grumpy (no wonder) and tired.

DIL feels its not fair to leave her like this so we will see what happens at appointment :-(

Dea

Dea Report 26 Jun 2014 08:14

Thanks Ginns but it is O.K., I don't need a hug - I have been waiting for that appointment for AGES ! I can stop nagging them now ;-) :-D :-D

I will take the hug though, and the lovely pancakes <3 Yummm....................

BTW - 'My' phone does have one little knob in the middle to twiddle but I suppose the rest are really buttons............... - We don't all have the posh ones ;-) :-D :-D
