Just popped back for a minute....

Thanks Gins, I saw that Ramsdale from Longshoot, but it's a different area in Wigan and would have been more apt for the last lot I did. However, if he is the only one, I may have to go with it I guess....

Dea

Joseph Smith - 42010 - Loyal North Lancs. Born Atherton which is in the area.

Joseph Smith - 7432 - Shropshire Light Infantry. Born St. John's Wigan (but there are several St. John's in Wigan)

Joseph Smith - 92745 - King's (Liverpool) reg. Born Wigan and living in Sheffield

Am just having another quick shuftie through them before I have to go out.

Morning :-D

Not sure what we are up to today. Might go out and look for a new bed or not.

Gins how much food did you have if that's the leftovers :-)

Dea

Dea Report 5 Jul 2014 11:02

That is certainly the most obvious Ginns but I can't find anything to prove it.

I have been looking in newspapers to see if there was any mention but I can't find anything I am afraid. :-(

Morning all... :-D

Sounds like Gins is feeling her age lately......and she's now't but a spring chicken....dear oh dear...... ;-)

Nothing much happening in my neck of the woods......OH had another eye injection yesterday and granddaughter had her 'prom' last night. She looked an absolute picture I have to say. :-)

Apart from that, I am coming to the end of my soldier research but could do with some help on 2 of them please:

William Ramsdale

I think this is his death: I just can't pin him down to the Wigan area.

Air Mechanic 2nd Class Royal Flying Corps Stores Depot, Greenwich.
Buried at Portsmouth Military Cemetery.
Died 4/3/17

Also Joseph Smith - there are about 3 from the Wigan area who died but I am struggling to make a connection to the Hindley area.

Any guidance would be much appreciated. Fanks.

Meanwhile.....be good.... :-D :-D :-D

Linda

Linda Report 4 Jul 2014 22:45

Gins she is having a fit at turning the age she has.

One of those folk who don't admit their age. As you know it doesn't bother me,

You would have loved the card I got her - it says "A little bird told me you were turning ** then you open it and it pops out and card inside says "so I shot the little bug**r" :-D

I will find the link for holiday resort it does look really nice will PM you both it.

Gins hope you are all having a good night remembering your lovely sis <3

Dea

Dea Report 4 Jul 2014 17:39

I was going to say - 'where on earth is Zante" ?? but I googled it and it is a Greek Island and sounds very nice :-D - Lucky you !!

We haven't been away for a few years now - At one time, with me working abroad such a lot and our many holidays my passport was SO used that all the gold stamping had worn off it and I often worried that they would query it.

When I started with all my health problems though I let it expire and have never got around to renewing it :-(

I DO miss my travelling though so 'one day perhaps' I will get a new one and start my travels again :-D :-D :-D

Have a lovely time Linds,

Dea Xxx
