Hello everyone,

Dea I will have some of those lovely tartlets and ham for lunch thank you yummy!

I have added a nice mixed salad and some lovely crusty bread also some key lime pie for afters.

Once No 1 son moves out I will have a spare room for the girls. they might have to fight me for it though as I could use it as a study ;-)

Your poor finger will be glad to see daylight hope it gets bendy again <3

Oh I meant to say I discovered those toasty bags a while ago. OH also threw them out :-)

Now where is our Gins hiding??

Going to visit MIL this afternoon. It's a day for staying indoors wet and wild :-(

Linds - I am just so glad that we have beds for them all - I would hate to have to share ! - they both wriggle and kick so much !!!

I remember a couple of years ago when grand-daughter was here and she came into our rom early in the morning and was standing there stroking my hubby's arm and he shot up in alarm as he didn't know what was happening............. :-D :-D :-D

OOOOooohhh - my little poorly finger is SO sore !!

I decided to cut the dressing down to just above the first bend above the knuckle so I could do some bending exercises to try to get it a bit mobile again - oOOOerr !! - BUT it IS a little more bendy than it was !! and all the skin that I have now exposed is looking a lot less 'peeled'

3 - 4 months 'under cover' is a very long time !!

I have been up since 7.30 am

We had fun O fell out of bed luckily I had place a pile of pillows on the floor "just in case"

Little voice says "gran" "O"? Then little face appears over the edge as she climbs back in.

We settle down then I get a slap in the face later a kick in the stomach

Then Dumbo falls out of bed little voice says "gran Dumbo not giving me cuddles he's rolled out of bed" she dives to get him I catch her leg she rescues Dumbo and we all settle down again.

She wasn't too bad just kept moving about at one point I woke up not knowing why.

She had reached for my hand and was holding it in her sleep. Aww shucks.

Daddy picked them up about an hour ago.

Grampa gone to watch footie and I feel a nap coming on ;-)

Gins bet you are please that you are finished with the dentist :-)

It's the butter that makes them so yummy!

Dea

Dea Report 18 Oct 2014 09:58

Yes Ginns - the first thing I did was a couple of toasted cheese and onion sandwiches. They worked well and didn't leak at all and they were delicious !!.

However, I usually griddle mine and butter both sides of the bread and I didn't butter the outside when I put them in the bags and I did sort of miss that rich buttery flavour.

I am told that you can still butter the outside and put them in there but I would think that would be a bit messy and difficult to slide them into the bags ?? I will have to try it.. They are very good for teacakes and I should think crumpets and things like scones.

The ones I have are just cheap ones from the supermarket but now I have found that I will use them I think I will probably buy some better ones from Lakeland.

You do need a toaster with wide slots though, which I have.

Lovely teacakes and perfect for my new crown :-)

Always wondered if those bags worked, can you do toasted sarnis with them?

Dea

Dea Report 18 Oct 2014 08:01

Good morning all :-)

Lovely toasted teacakes today with 'oozings' of butter.......... (nice and soft on your new tooth Ginns) ;-) <3

I did them in the toaster in those little bags and they are delicious.

I bought some toasta bags the other week to try and they worked very well. They were the ones you could wash and re-use 100 times.

Unfortunately I put them by the side of the sink to wash later and forgot about them as they 'disappeared' and I didn't notice.

When I remembered and realised they were not there I asked my dear hubby what he had done with them and he said that as they had been used he had binned them !!! :-0 :-(

They are going to work out to be quite expensive if I have to buy new every time ;-) :-D

Hope you had a reasonable sleep Linds- I am sure 'the girls' will have had fun.<3

I would think they wont take orders above the number of poppies they have to sell Gins x

I think they should either have had them in place earlier or leave them till 2018.

It would become a tourist attraction and would let more folk see them.

Gee

Gee Report 17 Oct 2014 16:44

I presume they won't sell if they have reached their quota, or maybe they will just refund?

Had my permanent crown done today

Linda Report 17 Oct 2014 12:10

Morning

Been busy stripping beds and getting ready for the girls tonight.

I think the poppies were mentioned on our page on the dark side or on GRA page.

Easy to find as there is a picture of the moat .

A lot of money has already been raised.

On the news last night it said they have sold more poppies than they have got in place yet. :-D

I think they should have left them in place till 2018.

Now what will they do if the demand outstrips the number made?

Gee

Gee Report 17 Oct 2014 08:52

I hadn't heard about it either but when I saw the poppies I figured they won't just bin them after the event so I Googled

I dare say nearer to 11/11 there will be news of the sale and I should imagine they will go like hot cakes

Mine will take pride of place by the fire 365 days of the year :-)

Good morning all :-)

Thanks for the lovely breakfast Ginns <3 <3 <3

Just taken a look for info about those poppies - what a lovely idea, I hadn't heard about this before. It should raise quite a lot of money which will be very useful to those charities.

Have a good day everyone............
