I got a "friend" request on FB a couple of days ago.

It was a friend who I haven't seen for about 6 years (get a card at xmas)

We were on chat for ages on Sunday night. She was getting her hair done in town today so came to mine for coffee.

We picked up as if we had only seen each other last week. Fab afternoon and we will meet up again soon.

Then I had to rush to shops to get my friend (DIL's) Mum a birthday present.

Went to see her and she has the girls today so more fun

Now after I have dinner I am having a lazy night might do some knitting :-)

Yes Linds - we ARE having fun with the grandchildren, even though they are very tiring !!

Yesterday my little grandson went on the computer and printed out a whole page of very large numbers - he was doing his 'secret number code' ;-) He then photocopied it in my machine as he always likes 2 copies (we go through an awful lot of ink cartridges !)

He is extremely good at 'mental maths' but does have problems writing his numbers down as he often writes them backwards so when I saw this I said to him "**** that is SO good - everyone of those numbers is the right way round" !!!
It was only when his sister chuckled that he realised that he couldn't have got them the wrong way round on the Computer !

He then took ithe pages downstairs and got out the scissors from the craft box as he is very independent and likes to do everything for himself and started to cut the numbers out BUT then he went in to 'grandad' and said "Grandad, will you come and watch me cutting as daddy says that I shouldn't use scissors unless I am being watched by someone" - What could you do but oblige ?? :-D :-D

He is a lovely little boy but is usually 'an accident waiting to happen' and he tries SO hard to be good (most of the time !)

I know that you say that you don't want any grandchildren Ginns but they do bring you so many lovely moments to cherish.

P.S. - Grand-daughter amazed me too - she has long ago stopped believing in Santa but when she lost another 'wobbly tooth' the other day she actually wrote a letter to the' tooth fairy' asking her name and all about where she lived and what things she liked etc. - I couldn't believe it ............

She actually showed me the reply she got and as it was in such small fairy writing she read it out to me with a great big happy smile on her face.

Oh dear...........

This morning I had the water board engineers call out to investigate a drain leak onto our patio

They followed me through the garage to the back and then I left them to it

I got back in and sat on the sofa and felt/heard something. I thought I must have sat on the remote or my reading glasses.....nope

Later after they had left, the same thing happened again and it was then that I realised..........my combats had split BIG style

I just hope they were in tact when I saw them through to the back :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0

Linda Report 19 Oct 2014 19:09

Gins old age catching up with you ;-)

Hope you had a lovely weekend <3

I have found a knitting group on the dark side (I can hear you Gins) they are all lovely.

Some of the stuff they have knitted is beautiful.

I have been searching for a garter stitch cardigan pattern for the girls.

I posted and within 30 minutes had been given a link to a site.

I went to it and have ordered two patterns from it.

Dea you need to have a look at it.

I got hints on where to save money on yarn and buttons.

MIL was much the same today she has been moved into a room on her own as she was being disruptive :-)

Off to make dinner x
