It's always helpful to be able to breathe! Glad you are having a better day of it
I just had a look at my driving licence details online. Seems DVLA have already issued my new licence....very efficient
I checked all my details, section for endorsement's/vehicles authorised to drive etc. Can't wait to get my new bus/tractor and road roller
I look forward to receiving my 'younger' look photo card licence!
:-D

Goodness me - I can breath today !!!
It must be a change of weather? - Perhaps the summer is over? :-( :-( BUT, whatever reason, I can breath today for the first time in months :-D
I have got so much done this morning you would not believe - I don''t expect it will last ;-) :-S :-S
Hope everyone is well?
Ginne - the same thing happened to hubby when he renewed his license - the old passport photo looks nothing like him :-0
I still have my paper license so don't have to bother until I am 70...
I have just had a letter to renew my blue badge after 3 years and they insist on an up to date photo. =- I don't mind though as the one I had taken for the first one was SO awful that I kept it hidden and dreaded anyone asking to see it. I will be very glad to get that one into the shredder !!!
What are you all up to?

Oh I DO wish I had seen that before I transferred everything to an external disc drive and my old computer 'gave up the ghost' !!! :-0 - It sounds SO simple ! :-( :-( :-(
My only consolation is that it doesn't look like it would have worked from 'Vista', only windows 7 and 8 ;-) :-D
I will get there in the end !

What you can probably help me with is a question about putting all the info from the back up I did onto the new computer.
This is a very basic question for anyone who knows about these things but not for me ;-) :-D :-D
I did a full back up from the old computer onto an external disc drive - don't ask me what that covers as I don't know - I just told it to 'do the lot' and I now have hundreds of compressed files on there - 156GB in total.
Do I just tell my new machine to upload the lot and will it put everything in the correct places even though the programmes are different or do I have to do it 'bit by bit' in some way?
Is there an 'idiot's guide' somewhere that I can follow?

All right then 'techie' - I need real help here now please................
I did the back up after we finished grand-daughters project on the rainforest.
Luckily I have an external hard-drive thingy so I did the back up which took 6 hours and used up 156 GB of space. :-S
It didn't work the way you said as (buddy) Vista has it's own way of doing things so I went along with that ..
Gawd knows how I get to download (or upload) all that onto my new computer !!
I was using (buddy) Vista and I think that I am now on windows 10 (have to check when I plug it in because it said it was 8.1 but the man in the shop said it had been upgraded to 10 ) ??
Anyway the download doesn't seem to have included programme files so is there anything else I should maybe try to take off before I unplug the old machine ??
Will I be able to keep all my favourites on my Firefox browser and transfer them ?
I think that somehow the e-mails will be able to transfer and all the documents but I am not sure about anything else?
HELP..........................

Just save all your data to an external drive, like a memory stick
Go to where all your files are, maybe C drive/documents
High light them all (ctrl A) right click and click 'copy'
Then stick in your external drive (memory stick) and when it opens click 'paste'

Glad you are all doing well !!
My computer keeps turning itself off every 10 minutesor so and t is SO frustrating !!!!!
I have bought a new one but can't set it up until the weekend as little granddaughter has her rainforest project all set out on the old one and I am frightened that we might loose it all !!!
Might be off-line for a few days while I struggle with the new one...................
See you soon (I hope)

Glad you have all your bits Linds ;-)
I wonder why Scotland & England have very different summer holidays?
I believe the original idea of the summer holidays was due to needing all the family for harvest time
Maybe Scotland have a different crop/harvest time?

Dea.
Our schools stop end of June - earlier than yours.
I didn't get all my furniture and they didn't pick up the damaged part :-|
I phoned the stores HO again and let rip with both barrels. Told them they better get it fixed or I was going on to social media :-)
Customer services was to call me back once they had spoken to the furniture manufacturer.
the manufacturer phoned me said it was easier then trying to talk to the CS who are based in China grr
The rep was great we got it sorted in less than 5 minutes and they will uplift the damaged part and the one part of the wardrobe that I have.
Will send out the three parts of the wardrobe. All to arrive on Friday.
She gave me their contact number in case I have any more problems.
Its the same guy that delivers it we were joking that at this rate we will be exchanging Christmas cards ;-)
I have sat down and written everything out. It takes up 5 pages of A4 paper.
Once we have all the furniture I intend to write to HO and complain loudly :-P
son and DIL are having a little tea party tomorrow after school is out :-)

Another furniture delivery tomorrow!
Fingers crossed this one is undamaged.
I got the independent report of our sofas today. Phoned the store's customer services team and I have to email it to them (faster than snail mail )
Then we just have to wait on their reply.
Today OH and I went to a Wilko store .
One of the knitting groups I am in said that the wool was cheap .
Oh boy is it ever. Lovely self striping wool £1.35 a 50gm ball Got four of them.
Also got 3 100gm balls in white, cream and a soft baby green same price :-D
Think I will have to knit faster :-)
I also got a folder that has the polly pockets in already. I can now organise all my patterns.
Got some new baking tins too.
The shopping centre was massive we will visit again :-)
M and L are hoping to move this weekend :-)
We have the girls tomorrow and O starts school on Thursday.

You did right not to accept it Linds. You're not having much luck with the furniture
I once had a very expensive bathroom mirror delivered, looked Ok and we didn't open it until about two weeks later as the bathroom wasn't finished when it arrived
When we did open it. it was in 3 pieces but all still in place, that's why we didn't hear anything rattling
Phoned them up and I had another one the next day!
I guess I was lucky

GRRR
Missing two parts of nursery furniture arrived this morning - still waiting on customer services calling me back :-|
The packaging was badly damaged - you could see the wood of the furniture !
I refused delivery then phoned HO and told them I would only deal with them in future NOT their customer services team whose first language isn't English. It took one of them 10 minutes to spell my surname :-P
I am now waiting on the furniture manufacturer phoning me to sort things out and arrange another delivery.
I have sat down and written everything out detailing every phone call etc for the letter I will be sending to HO :-|
This has been going on since the end of July. Totally unacceptable and all they offered me by way of compensation was a £10 e voucher.
I don't think so :-P
Oer we have now got thunder and torrential rain :-(
