Hi

had a busy day. OH got a text at 6.50am to say dishwasher would arrive between 3.50pm and 7.50pm

We went and did the weekly food shop came home and had lunch.

Then OH suddenly thinks "Oh they cant get new dishwasher in as old one's plug is put through the back of kitchen unit.

Quick call to son. He comes empties cupboard and takes the socket out takes plug off old dishwasher and goes. Leaving mayhem behind him lol

I got a call at about 3.15 to say they would be here in about 30 minutes they arrived 20 minutes later.

took them about 15 minutes to take old one out and fit new one.

Then we had to get everything back where it should be.

Son will come and empty it all again tomorrow to fit socket back

We have the girls tomorrow and I am going to visit my sister with them.

Gins did you ever find those buttons?

Off to knit DIL's Mum (my friend ) has asked me to knit a hat for her grandsons Christmas .

Yes - thanks Ginns - I have that from the outward bound UK list.

This was Hilda, Arthur Snrs. wife and his 2 children Sheila and Arthur Jnr.

I wanted to see the incoming one at the other end to see if it gave details of where they were going etc. and wondered about when they travelled from Australia to NZ.

Wondered also if there were any BMD's for any of them over there but it seems there is not much info available even if you have the worldwide membership.

Not to worry, I was only curious.

Thanks anyway - off now to brave the horrible wet windy nasty rainly weather to pick up the grandchildren. :-( :-( (That was meant for the weather NOT the grandchildren !! ;-) :-D )

See you later,

Dea

There is one for Arthur Lamb arriving in Mel in 1958 (FMP)

Edit: Born 1942 and he's with Hilda and Sheila Lamb

It's O.K. Ginns - I just wanted to have a look around really but I can't find anything on him - Arthur Lamb - went over to Melbourne in 1957 - his wife and children followed the following year.

I believe they had a Haulage Business over there and then moved to NZ. - was just curious so tried to look for the incoming passenger list in Australia but couldn't even find the lists !! :-S :-(

I tried a couple of other catagories and even put in a John Smith and a Thomas Jones but got NO results !! - Can't believe that's right with those 2 names :-0

I will keep 'fiddling' for a while then give up :-D

Nice scones........thank you

Dea

Dea Report 7 Nov 2014 13:20

Well, I have been on FMP trying to access records for my Ancestor who went to Australia and then on to NZ. (Free access to worldwide from now until Monday lunchtime) !! BUT I can't find anything - It keeps taking me back to UK results :-( :-( :-( :-S

Nice school lunch Dea :-0

At least there was a nice home made dinner :-)

Dea

Dea Report 6 Nov 2014 18:45

Thanks Ginns but I have just had a huge chinese meal - Grand-daughter came home from school starving as they had an awful dinner of really hard chewy beef, mashed potatoes with lumps in, hard carrots and hard cauliflower with bits of yellow on which were not cheese !! so whe couldn't eat any of it.

It must have been bad because she is a very good eater and has always eaten almost everything !

Anyway she asked me to make her favourite chinese (chicken chow mein, battered prawns and rice) which I did, and she wolfed the lot down :-0 :-D

I did me some teryaki chicken and 'helped' her with the chow mein and rice................ Yuuummm

Hubby 'helped out' with some of everything !!! ;-) :-D
