I am shattered .

Had the girls till 6.30pm.

We had a busy day. O made a pompom for her little baby cousins hat that I am knitting. She loved doing it and now wants me to teach her to knit.

Maybe in a couple of years lol

We then made lemon drizzle cake (snap Dea) and chocolate crispies.

I will sleep tonight :-)

Hello again, all you lovely people.

I just have to ask, Dea, what is a Canadian cookie?

Since I live in Canada all of the cookies that I eat are Canadian cookies so what are your Canadian cookies?

Thank you! Slowly getting used to forums...one day I will know what I am doing, but I am very grateful for all the lovely people on GR who answer what must sometimes seem (to them) very obvious questions so patiently.

Well put Dea

Don't beat yourself up if you made an error. Now you know, how the boards work

Hi Phillipa,

What you have to bear in mind is that if you ask a question say on Tom Smith for example - In order to try to help you we first look at Tom and then we follow him backwards and forwards through the census's, looking at his family, his wife, his children, his brothers, sisters, and his parents etc. so that we get a picture of his family so that we can make sure that anything we find connects properly to the correct person (as far as we possibly can without certs).

So - If you start a new thread, say regarding his brother, we will do the whole thing again but we will be duplicating the searches and finding the same family info which has already ben posted on the other thread.

This is where people get frustrated as they find they have wasted perhaps hours of their time and effort for nothing.

Therefore you should keep all the queries on the same family together on the one thread and then all this info is together for people to see.

Different queries for the same person should be added to that same thread for the very same reason.

If you want to ask a question about his wife, Mrs. Smith you can always update the title of the thread by clicking on 'edit' in your first post and change it for example to 'Tom Smith, Bedford 1841' to Tom Smith / Ann Smith (nee Jones) Bedford.

Hope this helps.... + welcome to the community boards. :-D

Hi,

Can you please clarify so I don't get into trouble?!! If I am asking about the same person but a different query does it go on the same thread? And is it ok to have different threads for different members of the same family? I try to put the person's name in the title so it is easy for people to know who I am asking about, so what if some queries are about a married name and some a maiden name? Thanks!

Gee

Gee Report 17 Nov 2014 16:45

Those wellingtons are a bit pricey :-0

Guess what I did today............

Went and had my hair cut very short. People seem to like it and I do too

It's still a graduated bob, but very short. I was sick of it taking me about an hour to dry my hair

Here I am Linds - just got back from shopping <3

Before I went I had to compose an 'important' letter for hubby to send to someone - It took me half the morning - I had to get in all the points he had put into the one he did yesterday but word them in a more 'appropriate' way ;-) :-D

It is now 'fit' to send...............

Brunch was delicious - thank you Ginns <3

Gave you a refund and a goodwill payment??

I should think so too. Did you ask why they hadn't issued a recall?

Its not the shops that are the problem its the DIL :-(

I have a list for the girls now one of the items is Hunter wellingtons at £40!

Now where is our Dea ....

Gee

I've had more luck than you at the shops

Sainsbury's gave me a full refund on the pan £30, plus £10 for good will. They were very apologetic

Hi

Gins wish I could sit down. Off soon to take the dresses we got the girls back DIL said they have similar ones.

I am buddy fed up she is always the same you have to get gift receipts for everything. I told her either she comes out with me or I give her the cash and she can go and pick stuff and give me it to wrap up.

I am not wasting any more time traipsing round shops :-P

Gee

Gee Report 16 Nov 2014 12:09

Good morning all :-)

It's happening again ..... :-S

About half an hour ago I popped in and did some boiled eggs and toast soldiers for your breakfast but they seem to have disappeared so I have had to start all over again :-S

This time I have added a choice of bacon butties and cheese and onion toasties ;-)

Hope you all have a lovely day <3
