first time I've ever been accused of having a Canadian accent :-D :-D :-D
we have a roast most Sundays even though there are usually only the 2 of us, alternating beef, pork, lamb, and occasionally chicken
we both love a roast cold, so OH buys a piece around 1 kg ................... and it usually does the 2 of us for 3 meals .............
........ hot on Sunday, cold sliced on Monday and Tuesday. Occasionally, it lasts until Wednesday, when it is turned into a version of a risotto or a lamb curry.
J does very much the same ............... except she has to warm up the slices of cold meat for her OH 'cos he won't eat it cold.

Good morning and thank you for breakfast Sylvs.........that bacon looks too good to miss....... ;-)
Canadian accent??? Dear oh dear, c'mon Sylvs.....you're letting the side down! sheeeeesh......
Gracie - meat is such a price I agree. I absolutely adore roast beef but, because there are only three of us for Sunday lunch usually, I tend to buy a squidgy little piece, cook it in the slow cooker and finish off in the oven if needs be. My butcher knows exactly how much to cut for me. I'd love to be able to buy a bigger piece but it would go to waste with my two sadly.... :-( Enjoy yours and think of me :-D
The funeral was okay as was my outing with my friend. Hoping for a less manic day today..... :-)
Have a good day all ~~~

Hi Rach
enjoy your joint birthday dinner tomorrow!
It's still hot and sunny here ............... although it is a little more comfortable, at around 25/26C. It seems that we are going to get a few more clouds over the weekend, and the temperature will drop a couple of degrees ................ but still no rain in the forecast through to Tuesday next week.
I got a surprise yesterday ....... we have a friend arriving in a couple of weeks. She's from NZ, but has been travelling in Europe since April. She just phoned to check in with us ................................
but I answered the phone with the usual "Hello" ........................ there was a short silence, and then she said
"Oh, I wasn't expecting such a Canadian accent"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's the first time I have been accused of having a Canadian accent! :-0

Good morning all,
Gins the accident in Spain was terrible, makes you wonder what caused it..the poor people :-(
Glad that it is the weekend tomorrow. Am having my brother and his family over for dinner tomorrow night as a belated birthday celebration for the pair of us. Went to get a big roast beef and was surprised how much the price of beef has shot up here....very frustrating because in Australia you would think we have access to plenty of meat etc. Lamb was always dearer than beef but now it is the reverse.
Mind you the girl serving me at the butcher did suggest the roast would go further if I measured the weight of the slices and only allowed 2 slices per adult (there are five adults and one 17 year old - 4 males so they most certainly would eat more than two pieces!)
As they say, people are funny and it takes all sorts!
Cold cold cold here today :)

OH has just returned from his first visit to my dentist ...............
after his very long extremely expensive dental work, he doesn't have any real teeth exposed .................... if they are there, they've been crowned
BUT his specialist doesn't do "cleaning" and "gum work", just checks the work he's done is still in good shape.
So, he had a session with the hygienist who takes care of my teeth.
He's quite happy with her, and with what she did.
Phew!!!
The dentist didn't even bother to come see him :-D

Enjoy your evening Gins...........
Another crazy day but nearly over once I have returned daughter home!!
Saw some folk I haven't seen in a while at the funeral and then went onto take friend and daughter out to a garden centre. Met lots of roadworks on the way which didn't help with timings etc... :-(
Am hoping for some time at home tomorrow..... :-D
