I have given this year's lesson to the Resident at the Family Practice Clinic :-D

I don't think he had done a punch biopsy before, so that was my lesson for him :-D

The Staff Doctor was also there and guided him through the procedure .............. which also told me what they were doing and how they were doing.

It might take up to 3 weeks to heal :-0

Problem of course is that I don't stop bleeding easily, and the shin is an area that can bleed a lot.

so, tonight ............................

I will dress OH's ear, and OH will have to add another dressing on top of the one that is on my shin :-D

I go back for the result in 2 weeks time ..................... on Hallowe'en

'course you don't, if you go NHS ........................

but you would if you went private!

and that was the bit I was responding to. :-)

Gee

Gee Report 16 Oct 2013 20:48

Seems like, same as the UK

We just wait longer!

Edit: Missed that bit.....I don't pay to see a specialist

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 16 Oct 2013 20:33

hey ...........

I don't pay to see specialists here, as long as I have been referred by my GP, or another specialist.

we don't have much private medical available, a little bit but not much.

But I think we pay more than you in terms of monthly premiums to the Provincial Health Programme, Pharmacare.

But everyone with more than minimumincome has to do that, so it isn't "special treatment" ........................ and even those who are below minimum income level get the same treatment as me, only the government pays their premiums.

Gee

Gee Report 16 Oct 2013 20:23

Sylvs

I've seen 'specialists' for months!

I wont go private....I pay for NHS

Bit of a socialist!

I'm just going to make my luinch ........................

.............. think I'll have a cold turkey sranie, with BOTH sage and onion stuffing and cranberry sauce :-D :-D

SylviaInCanada Report 16 Oct 2013 20:08

is it usual to have to wait so long to see specialists for your psoriatic arthritis??

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 16 Oct 2013 20:08

sorry, Linda ................

I don't like peanut at all

Can't even stand the smell of it!

I have to go to the docs this afternoon ......... and have a punch biopsy of a "thingy" on my shin.

Just a precaution ......... but it has changed recently :-(

I am sure they are very nice but somehow I don't really fancy them.

Anyway, Linds does not have to get them from America, they can be bought on e-bay ;-)

They DO 'look' nice though :-D

Good afternoon all............ :-S

Quiet 'ere innit??? :-S

Went to docs re OH's eye. She doesn't think it is anything serious but advised him to have his eyes checked by an optician. Whilst we were there, we had our flu jabs done, so it was almost like a Buy One Get One Free outing!! :-D

Have played on the computer ALL afternoon and feel quite guilty!

Good morning all :-D

Thank you for the porridge Dea..... <3

I actually prefer cold turkey meat to hot. If I have it hot, then I like sage and onion stuffing but, if I have it cold, then cranberry is just right!

Must admit that peanut butter chocs sound very interesting........ :-D

Not sure what I am up to today apart from some housework. OH has a problem with his left eye so the doc is phoning back later..........sigh.....if it ain't one thing, it's another :-(

Off for a browse..........~~~~
