Have a few of those mushrooms with it Ginns, you will be surprised how yummy it is, even for breakfast ;-)

I seem to remember you once having left-over curry from one of your Friday night sessions for breakfast the following day and you enjoyed that :-D

Dea,

I am glad that you did not take offence to my comment as certainly no offence was intended.

Whilst I accept that in some countries in the world women are still treated as second class citizens in most of the Western world if either sex is oppressed I think that is most likely to be the male.

I subscribe to the analogy that a man is like a carpet.

Laid correctly it can be walked over for a long long time. ;-)

Hi Cynths,

I see you have sneeked in while I was trying to post my last message.

That bacon smells delicious so I will grab myself a couple of bacon buttties please.

Thank you,

Dea Xxx <3

Good morning all :-)

No offence taken Jonesey and I agree with you wholeheartedly about the horror of landmines and the suffering and devastation they cause to innocent people and families !

I heard this joke on the radio and I was looking at it from a female point of view!
It was deliverered by a woman and to me it was a social comment regarding the oppression of women. Here was a woman who had been long oppressed scoring a point against her male oppressor without him realising and still feeling that he was the one in control. The 'punchline' could just have well been 'quicksand' ! but it wasn't............

From that perspective, I am afraid it did make me laugh!

Anyway, nice to see you again <3

Gins, you numpty, you forgot the muffins..... :-D

I will make some bacon butties for those who are absolutely starving.

Eye drops are becoming my speciality! OH has to have five different kinds - four times a day! :-S

Quick browse and then tidy up this place!

Dea,

Nothing personal but I'm afraid that I did not find your Afghan lady joke funny.

I view landmines as one of the most evil devices that man uses against those they perceive as their enemy. The landmines often remain buried long after the conflict is over just waiting for some innocent person to trigger them. If the resulting explosion does not kill it usually inflicts horrendous injuries, shattered bodies, shattered lives.

There is nothing humorous about a landmine.

Hi all
xxx

strange weather here .....................

fog, bright sun and blue skies, fog, sunny periods, fog.

I can't see the top of a new 19 storey building that's about 1 km away because of the fog.

The bottom 17 storeys are hidden behind trees but I can usually see the very top.

weird!

Have been back to Liverpool today to have OH's eye checked over. The surgeon seemed pleased with the result. :-D

Mind you, the eye does rather look like something from a horror movie as it's quite 'bloody' and gory. I am getting very adept at administering regular eye drops - my talents know no end!! :-D

Since we came back, I have been catching up with my beloved ironing. So very calming after all the trauma of the last few days. :-)

How long was the site down for then Dea?
