I got my smart phone for about £7 more than I am paying now. I wanted to have access to the internet whilst out and about. Daughter is sorting it out for me but, meanwhile, it is next to me on charge and I feel as though I am sitting next to an unexploded bomb!! :-0
My word, we have had some heavy rain today and odd bits of flooding too..... :-(
Jonesey, my OH takes near enough 20 pills a day....just like your friend really. Pills before food, pills after food, pills with food then, add to that the eye drops....sheeeeeesh....!! :-0 ;-) :-D :-S
Going to bed now....been a long day. Night all.

Cyn,
A humorous poem but despite everything I only take one tablet (500mg Sulphasalazine) a day. It is yellow and its purpose is to prevent a re-occurrence of Ulcerative Colitis.
The poem could however apply to a friend of mine who was diagnosed with a very serious heart problem and was forced to retire whilst still in his early forties. He is now 65 and over the years he has acquired/developed numerous other ailments which means that he now has to take tablets by the bucket load every day. He has pills to prevent something happening but those pills have side effects which mean taking other pills to counter those side effects and so on and on.
I have seen him line up as many as 14 tablets in a row which he has then swallowed with the aid of a tumbler of whisky. His attitude, which is supported by his wife, is "Live for today because tomorrow may never come". So far it seems to be working for him.

Good morning and thank you for breakfast Sylvs.....porridge as usual I think please. :-D
Dea, I am glad you liked the poem and I thought it funny too. Let's see what our Jonesey thinks of it.... :-D :-D :-D
My word, we had a very pink sky this morning.... :-0
It reminded me of the old saying....."Red sky at night, shepherd's delight. Red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning!" Looks as though we could be in for some showers and showers and showers...... :-(
I am thinking of updating my mobile phone to, maybe, a smart phone. Daughter is coming along with me to give me advice as she is a whizz on hers. It all depends on the cost though!! ;-)
See you later. ~~~

Good morning all :-)
Cynthia,
I just LOVE your poem :-D - It reminds me of when I was a little girl and my mum gave me a junior aspirin for a headache - I knew she had given me one before for a toothache and I asked her then - how does it know which bit of me to go to??
Strange though, I cannot remember her reply (It was probably stifled by her laughter) ;-)
Sylvia - thank you for the lovely breakfast - Full English please. <3
See you all later,
Dea Xxx

For Jonesey.... :-D
SPECIAL POEM FOR OLDER FOLKS
A row of bottles on my shelf Caused me to analyse myself. One yellow pill I have to pop Goes to my heart so it won't stop. A little white one that I take Goes to my hands so they won't shake. The blue ones that I use a lot Tell me I'm happy when I'm not. The purple pill goes to my brain And tells me that I have no pain. The capsules tell me not to wheeze Or cough or choke or even sneeze. The red ones, smallest of them all Go to my blood so I won't fall. The orange ones, very big and bright Prevent my leg cramps in the night. Such an array of brilliant pills Helping to cure all kinds of ills. But what I'd really like to know, Is what tells each one where to go!
:-D :-D :-D :-D

Jonesey your dogs sound lovely :-)
Yes they do take up your time but the rewards are worth it. My son got Star when we were on holiday so it was a "done deed".
My Mum had died a couple of weeks before we went on holiday and when I came home everything just hit me.
I used to get up in the middle of the night and come downstairs crying my eyes out.
Star jumped up on my lap facing me put her paws on my shoulders licked my cheeks then put her head on my shoulder - like giving me a hug !
She is well named cos she is a little star. Just have to hope everything goes ok with her op <3
Cynthia you do miss pets when you have been used to having them around.

I would love a dog but being out at work all day, I don't thinks its fair to leave a dog all alone
I guess I could get a live in maid and she could look after it ;-)

I know it's a wise decision Jonesey......but we really do miss having one around. Yours sound lovely.....sigh......
Had lunch at church. Since our vicar died so suddenly, we are now going through a phase of 'too many chiefs and not enough indians! Hope everyone calms down soon...it's quite exhausting! :(

Morning Cyn. <3
We have 2 dogs, Rufus Jones and Oscar Jones. They are full blood brothers but from different litters, Rufus is 3 years old, Oscar is 2 years old. Although they are brothers their appearance and temperaments are very different from one another. Rufus is what I think of as a traditional coloured Yorkshire terrier, steel grey and tan. Oscar is predominantly light grey with a blonde face and a jet black tail. Oscar is quite feisty whereas Rufus is quite placid unless someone approaches the front door. No need for a knocker or doorbell, Rufus lets us know when we have a visitor. Mrs J takes care of their daily exercise and grooming. Their mother is one of my daughter's dogs, Ruby. My daughter breeds them, recently 2 of her bitches had a total of 11 puppies between them in the space of a fortnight.
Dogs do take a bit of looking after and are certainly a responsibility so bearing in mind all the other demands upon your time your decision not to have one at this time would seem to be a wise one.

Good morning all :-D
Thank you for breakfast Sylvs....porridge for me as I will try and be good again.
Impossible, I know. ;-)
Poor Linds.....this is the downside to having a pet and I know just how you feel. Do hope all goes well for Star and please give her a hug from me.
Up until retirement, we had always had at least one dog. We still miss not having one but, in the circumstances with OH, it really isn't practical and would put more responsibility on me. I can't watch animal rescue programmes because I always want to go and get all of the dogs I see on them..... :-(
Going for a browse...........
Morning Jonesey! <3
