So sorry to hear about Star......I can well understand how your son and his partner must feel. Such a worry.

Had to go to docs with OH this morning as he has a cough which makes his chest hurt. She can't find anything wrong so he just has some linctus. He is 77 tomorrow and I just wonder where the years have gone. :-S

Enjoy your visitors Sylvs and I am sure that you will soon qualify as an official Bed and Breakfast establishment.... :-D :-D

I've been watching a programme about JFK - it's the 50th anniversary of his death. I surprised myself as I found it quite fascinating and its one of those dates where people can remember where they were at the time they heard the news of his death. Must be getting old!!

Off to bed now.....night night all....

The CBC rradio eplayed the Remembrance Day Ceremony from the National War Memorial in Ottawa at 11 am our time (3 hours after it had actually happened) ................

It was very interesting to hear the famous reading ..........

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

being given in English, French AND Inuktituk (one of the main Inuit (Eskimo) languages).

Update on Star the best case scenario is that they operate and remove the tumour but as they have to remove 2cm around it she will need a skin graft.

As her lymph nodes were swollen they decided not to put her through op today as wouldn't be any benefit if it has spread. results due by Friday at the latest.

Worst case she will need chemo at £500 a month and son never took out insurance :-(

Son is gutted his partner is in tears and everyone is upset but no decisions can be made until we get the results :-(

Oh and just to put the icing on it I have to go and get Dea's favourite test :-(

What a day .

Hi everyone,

Just got a call from the vet and its not looking good.

Didn't remove tumour as the lymph glands were swollen and he says it has spread to them.

Biopsy taken results awaited :-(

Son and his partner are going to get her in about half an hour both very upset.

Star is their "baby"

Feels like mine too :-(

For The Fallen

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.
