Good morning all :-)

Thank you so much for cooking all that bacon - It always tastes so much better when someone else cooks it for you <3 <3

Not looking forward to today as I have to venture into town to have a blood test - 'that', I don't mind but they have been digging the roads and pavements up everywhere for the past 12 months or so to lay new water pipes and a great many roads are closed off. They are also demolishing parts of the town and constructing a new by-pass !!!

You never know which way to try to go in as wherever you go you can't get through and end up driving round for ages! :-(

Added to that chaos, the annual Fair is arriving today and the roads in the centre will also be closed because they bring everything in during the night and have to build it all in the Squares, streets and car parks - It is quite an amazing sight with many extremely large and famous rides.

I just hope that I can drive to somewhere not too far from the surgery so that I don't have to far to struggle on foot. :-(

See you all later

Morning all :-D

Thank you that Gins.......I will sort out some mushrooms for our Dea.

Sylvs is away again I think so we will have to rally round...... :-D

I love the words on the card my daughter sent to her dad yesterday.

It is done in the format of a newspaper headline.

There is a picture of an elderly man, fast asleep in a deckchair. His hat has fallen back on his head and the newspaper is in his lap.

It reads:

ANOTHER YEAR OLDER! BIRTHDAY BLOKE BESIDE HIMSELF WITH EXCITEMENT.

"Wake me up when it's all over" says notorious party animal.

So, so, true! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Another exciting morning for me. We're off to the Council Tip to get rid of some rubbish.......wow! I really know how to have a good time. :-D

See you later.....

C'mon Jonesey, rise and shine! ;-)

Thank you for the birthday wishes for OH everyone...... :-D

After a gentle walk, we went and had coffee with our son, thus interrupting his work schedule! :-D

Nothing special this afternoon but daughter came for a meal and then our late vicar's daughter popped up with bottle of sherry for OH and stayed an hour or so. :-)

Re the cough medicine....the only one he is allowed to take is Pholcodeine because of the amount of meds he is on. It does seem a lot better today though. :-D

I'm really impressed by your acting skills Dea........maybe they were doing 'Christmas around the world' ??? Nowadays you rarely get to see a proper nativity story in schools......multi-cultural and all that!!!

How was 'Wing Lee' related to the Christmas story :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S

Dea

Dea Report 12 Nov 2013 18:23

Now then, before you all think I have gone mad - I can assure you that I haven't !!

The 'Chinese' thing has just brought back some memories of when I was around 7 years old and I was involved in the opening scene of a School Christmas Play ! :

(I am Wing Lee) :............................... sorry - all shushhh there at the back - I am just 'setting the scene' !!

Curtains open..............

"Will you help me fly my kite Wing Lee?"

"No, Fong Hoi (or it might have been Hong Foi??) , there is not enough wind. Let us sit here beneath the branches of the peach tree and wait for news about the baby who is to be born today"

That's it then - I suppose that you can all work out the rest of the story :-D :-D :-D

I just wonder who on earth wrote the thing in the first place and why on earth we were performing it in 1950's Salford???

Dea Xxx

P.S. - Anyway, I believe I was VERY good !!
