Mornin all~~~~~

Looks like Jonesey is looking forward to a good meal on the big day!

How windy is it here :-0 Must be all those sprouts!

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 5 Dec 2013 00:46

we were given a large bag of brussels sprouts yesterday ............

............ I think we got enough for at least 10 meals :-)

"Sprussels" are always part of our Christmas dinner :-)

We have parsnips most weeks Jonesey........ :-D

Went to see my health trainer and I've gained 1.5lbs :-(

Then went into town and picked up a Christmas present for daughter whilst OH had his hair cut.

Came home and finished some ironing.

Had lunch and went to visit son's recently widowed mother-in-law.

Back home to more ironing.

Meal

and a play on the laptop...mostly chatting to our deceased friend's daughter over on the dark side. At one stage, I was talking to 5 friends - non from here either.......my fingers were twinkling away over the keyboard... .

Yep....been a busy old day really. :-D :-D :-D

I will wish you all good night and wait to see what else Jonesey recommends for Christmas. ;-)

Night night all.....xx

Sylvs....my growing up in the 70s was always a 'be quiet'

It's how it was....it is what it is

It taught me lots though, I always asked my kids 'hang on a sec', rather than 'be quiet'

They are never quiet, but they listen!

I got involved trying to sort out a problem in my tree last night, hence my absence form the kitchen ..................

We used to live next door to my grandmother's sister.

She was always a grumpy old thing, I only went in her house a couple of times that I remember, and I was always being told not to make too much noise outside her house.

We moved away in March 1951, and I really do not remember seeing her after that.

However, I decided to make a determined attempt last night to find her death

Nada

In almost desperation, I looked at the Marriage Index .............

............ the woman married again in June quarter 1951, at the age of 66!

so no wonder I couldn't find her death!

It's still a problem though ....................... she went from an uncommon surname to a VERY common one :-)

Okay......here we go:

Bacon - fried or grilled

Eggs - scrambled, poached, boiled

Hash browns - baked or grilled or naughtily fried

Orange juice - squeezed

crumpets - toasted

Croissants - warmed

Bread - sliced and toasted

Go for it.

Yesterday I picked my granddaughter up from school. I do so enjoy her company. Her dad, when he arrived, was sorting out the small tv in my bedroom and a comment was made about how tidy it was.

I looked at her and said "Just think, if you had a tidy bedroom, you would know where everything was".

She looked at me with her lovely little face and said, with a twinkle in her eye "But I KNOW where everything is..........

......................it's on the floor!!"

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Just chatting.....is it only me that has salad and home made olive oil chips?

I am cooking hand made chips, covered in olive oil and some Cajun spice...cooked in the oven

Along with, a huge salad, including, hard boiled eggs, leaves, onion, toms, sweetcorn, red pepper and sultanas, cottage cheese and rustic garlic bread.......from the co-op! (the bread, not the salad)

It's YUM

Heard yesterday that my nice next door neighbour is back in hospital again - he only came out a few days ago. I have a feeling that things aren't too good for him
:-(

A very grey day here..........can't wait till the light nights return........ :-D

Not much of an agenda today - apart from catching up on some ironing - so I will take things as they come.....see you later.
