Yes - my water is now on at the normal pressure but it is still very dirty looking. - They say it will settle back to normal soon. - will take another week or two to get the 'special' equipment over to mend it !Q!!

Didn't have a bath though this morning - Had a good wash with hot water cooled down by bottled water in the sink as I didn't fancy sticking my body into what was coming through the tap ;-) :-D

Washed my hair in the same way as I always wash it every morning or I don't feel 'right' :-(

Hope it gets back to normal soon...

Finally got a day to sit and chill just got caught up on here.

Jonesey thank you for the link which I have saved to my favourites cos they are as you know my favourite chocolates <3

Dea is your water on yet?

Glad everyone had a nice Christmas. We went to sons to give the girls their presents. My eldest gave O the dolls head that you style her hair and put her make up on. She loved it played with it from the minute she got it and was still playing with it when we left. :-D

I got more of my Lindt chocolates from my friend in NYC :-D :-D

I also got 2 tins of chocolates and a heart shaped box of Thorntons and more Lindt chocolates from No 1 son.

I got 3 lots of perfume (wonder if they are trying to tell me something ;-) )

I got a lovely handbag and earrings, vouchers for our favourite restaurant and also cinema vouchers and a lovely pair of leather gloves.

Santa was very good to me :-)

On Christmas day we had a lovely meal here with 2 of our sons and their partners.

the girls helped me get the food ready and the guys cleared up, we had a lovely relaxed time and a good laugh.

Yesterday we just had sandwiches (turkey of course) as we were still stuffed then OH and myself went round to friends for drinks and got home about midnight.

today we are staying in and chilling as it is a really horrible day here wet and very windy.

On Sunday we are going to see my sister and one of my brothers is also going as we never managed to meet up before Christmas.

Oh is still trying to get rid of his cold and has finally decided to get a doctors appointment he got one for Monday.

Town was very quiet when I was there. The multi-storey carpark was nearly empty as were the shops. It may have got busier as time went on.

The sales were absolute rubbish. All the daft sizes that no-one (except our Dea) can wear..and not much stock generally. However, the swimsuits are now on display :-D :-D


Now going to Tesco's......deep joy..... :-S

Well Jonesey - to get back to your question - I have received flowers, chocolates and more chocolates.

Also a diary and a pen from my grandson to keep track of all my hospital appointments AND some over gloves from my grand-daughter to stop me burning my hands (which I did again on Christmas day - just for effect!! ;-) ) AND a picture frame with photo's of the grandchildren in from son and DIL

The chocolates will last me until Mother's Day when I will probably get some more ;-) :-D :-D

Mind you - the 'plus factor' is that the upstairs toilet has stopped making an awful noise which has been driving me mad all day !!

The bathroom is just across the hall from my office and because the presxsure has been so very low it is not able to stop the 'thingy arm' in the cistern from rising up to stop the overflow so it has been overflowing into the toilet noisily ALL DAY !!!!!!

Now it is SO quiet............................sheer joy !!!!!

Well Ginns - we do have water but it is a muddy dark yellow so I don't think I will be using it for a while !

I do have plenty of bottled water though so all is fine.

Apparently the pipe which has burst is a VERY big one - over 3 foot in diameter and they need special equipment to repair it which is in another part of the Country so they have to move it down to here :-(

The water has flooded the main by-pass so that road has to have been closed in order to work on it and they are now diverting water from various other places in order to supply us.

That is why it is the water is so very 'not nice' !!! - they will continue the work tomorrow !!

Well, there are still thousands of homes under several feet of flood water and without electricity over here and they have been like that since before Christmas so I really can't complain about having a few dirty dishes about the place ;-) :-( :-(

I feel sorry for the people in your area who left the Christmas clean up until today!

We had a really great day, relaxed and fun and then in evening we had a gang of visitors, all our son's mates

They went out to a party and left us at about 11.30pm and we went to bed!

What a lovely day <3

OOOhhh, I'm busy filling buckets,

working the whole day through,

trying to find lots of things not to do ........................... ;-) :-)


It seems from the water board's web site that the whole of the area and the adjoining one are having trouble because there has been a burst in one of the large main supply pipes............

At the moment they do not know how long it will take to fix but will update the website as the day goes on :-(

There is only a thin trickle of water coming through at the moment and I fear we might lose that too :-(

I went over to my neighbours house to check things as they are away in India and found that the very low pressure had caused her toilet cistern to overflow and her kitchen floor was awash so I had to turn off the local supply valve and mop up the kitchen. - Thank goodness I went in when I did !!!

Hey Ho - what a day !!!

Still, at least it didn't happen yesterday !!! ;-) :-D :-D

I think I will go and spend another hour filling up a bucket :-D :-D :-D

Morning all. As I always say on this day every year, "Well that's another Christmas over in the blink of an eye".

Father Christmas brought me 3 tins of biscuits, 4 boxes of chocolates (2*Thorntons, 1 each Cadbury and Terry's) and a box of Maynards wine gums. All were the right colour, the right size and just what I wanted, no exchanges necessary. :-D
