my sis-i-l managed to get to the church in my avatar for the Christmas Eve service .............. she and her family accounted for 12 of the congregation!

it's sort of cloudy with some sun showing here!


We stayed up until after midnight ............ watched the TV for the last 30 minutes of 2013!

OH was in bed by 12:30 am, I followed about an hour later ....... somewhere between midnight and 1 am-ish is my usual time.


Gins seems to have had a fun time! My French is non-existent now .............. even though we live in a bi-lingual country!

I know it's only just gone half past five but my lovely grandchildren don't half wear me out nowadays and after having them all night, all day and then everyone for lunch too - I am now sitting here in my Jimmy Jams as, if I leave it any later I won't have enough energy left to put them on :-(

I can just about muster enough up to nibble on a couple of those posh bikkies though ;-) :-)

Might see you later or, if I don't make it, I will see you all in the morning. <3

Gins glad you enjoyed yourself.

My brain wouldn't remember much French from school our whole clas was "advised" to drop French for the sake of our other studies!

Our teacher was also the assistant head and kept getting called away to deal with something.

Never got anyone to take over the class we were left to our own devices and the result was that we never did learn French!

In those days no one questioned the fact that a whole class was advised to drop a class can you imagine what would happen now ;-)

Had a FAB night with a lot of friends.....almost all the night was French, amazing what your brain remembers from school!

it's not even 9 pm here ................... we're the last of the lot I think! :-)


we went from the high to the low this morning

9 am ............... hear the news that a very close friend has been made an Officer of the Order of Canada :-D :-D (OH did have a hand in this, but you don't hear whether it has been successful or not until "the" day :-) )


10:45 am ......... phone call to say that OH's sister has been taken into hospital, prognosis maybe a week ......... 3 days and 2 weeks are the extremes. :-( :-(

It seems she hung on for Christmas, and her children and grandchildren all being there.

OH wanted to spend New Year here, with me, so we have him on a plane up there on Thursday morning, returning next Monday. I'm staying here.

I will go up for the Memorial.



I sure hope that 2014 is a better year.

I thought I'd popped in here last night......I can only imagine that it took so long to post that I'd logged off before my thoughts were added. :-(

Glad you had a good time Gins.....you love going to Wales don't you?

The whole gang came round yesterday whilst daughter opened her birthday presents and then they sailed off for a few days' break.

I spent a pleasant afternoon ironing and then working on a PowerPoint I am putting together - I really enjoyed it.

No gallivanting to parties for us at New Year - in fact - I think we will be in bed at the usual time. Such killjoys we are :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hopefully, a nice quiet day ahead........ :-)
