I have had the day from h**l

As I posted we had the girls today.

O has been complaining about a sore ear for a few days and she was up 4 times through the night and her temperature kept spiking.

She was ok this morning went to Nursery but when OH went to get her they said that when they were giving her her snack all the colour drained from her face.

They kept her in didn't let her outside to play (said if it hadn't been so near to pick up time they would have phoned)

From the minute OH put her in car (about 11.30am) till she fell asleep at 1pm she sobbed her eyes out. I had phoned and made a Doctors appointment for the afternoon.

Guess what she has an ear infection and is on antibiotics.

got a text from son thanking me for taking her to GP and saying his guilt has cost him a Snow White doll :-D

Yep Mum does know best (even when she is the gran) ;-)

OOOhh - thank you both - I registered it in Leicestershire and received the cert there but the death cert clearly states that the registration district was Manchester !!

That clears that up then !!

Dea Xxx :-)

My thoughts too Mr Jones

Jonesey Report 4 Feb 2014 16:33

Deaths are normally registered in the registration district where the death occurs irrespective of circumstances. If no family member is on hand to register the death there then this would be done by someone not connected to the deceased such as a hospital official if the death occurred in hospital.

The death certificate itself will clearly show where the death was registered.

Gee

Gee Report 4 Feb 2014 14:22

For future generations doing research - will the death be registered in Leicestershire, even though it happened in Manchester ??

Im not sure Dea

I think you can have a baby in one place and register the details in another

Doesn't it tell you on the death certificate where it was registered?

Linda

Linda Report 4 Feb 2014 10:31

Dea re your post a couple of days ago about your brothers DC.

I haven't seen a reply unless I have missed it.

I think the death will be registered where you got the DC unless someone knows differently??

OH has asked what I would like to do today - it was his idea to go to Ikea. Almost straight away I said....Dunelm Mill..........can't say he was overawed by my choice :-D

I want to pick up a couple of extra towels - the same make as we already have so that they all match. Of course, there may be the odd thing I may spot as I wander round..... ;-)

our local Ikea is apparently the only one in thw rold that has a union, or at least one affiliated with a major union.

The workers have been on strike since May last year.

The store is opne, limited hours (like from noon to 6 pm), and you cannot return stuff etc.

It seems to have turned VERY bitter

The problem?? .......................................

Hardships pile up as six-month-long labour dispute drags on at Richmond Ikea store
By Paul Luke, The Province December 2, 2013

The tussle between the Teamsters and Ikea, the province’s second longest ongoing labour dispute, shows no signs of a quick resolution. No talks are scheduled, but both sides say they’re ready to resume bargaining — if the other party is reasonable.

An attempt at reaching a mediated settlement in July collapsed when workers voted down the company’s overhauled offer.

For the union, the main issue in the dispute initially was a two-tier wage system for long-term and newer employees demanded by the company in its first offer.

In its second, mediated offer, Ikea revised the two-tier system by offering lump-sum payments and a complex system of percentage pay hikes based on what the union calls unrealistic sales targets.

Ikea wants to cut staff costs and improve productivity at the store, which it says is 30 per cent lower than its best-performing store in Canada.

Ikea Richmond has the worst productivity record in Canada and the highest staffing costs, said Ikea spokeswoman Madeleine Lowenborg-Frick.

“Ikea is asking the Richmond store to improve productivity from being the lowest-performing store in the country to the seventh out of 12. The sales goals set out by Ikea are attainable.”

Fifty per cent of Richmond employees make at least $18 an hour and 25 per cent make at least $21 an hour, wages that are above the retail industry standard, Lowenborg-Frick said.

The Teamsters insist the dispute is a lockout; Ikea calls it a strike. On Sept. 13, B.C.’s Labour Relations Board ruled that the dispute “meets the definition of strike under the Code.”

I have been playing with my FT yeah and now all I want to do is keep going BUT we have the girls for the next 2 days.

We also have them on Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning :-)

Also been catching up on phone calls to relatives that were long overdue and booking tickets for the workshops for WDYTYA :-D

I just discovered last night that the WDYTYA USA version is on BBC1 last night at 11.20pm it is half way through the series.

I don't know if it is a repeat I haven't seen them before last night it was Cindy Crawford.
Think I should go to bed now to prepare for the next couple of days ;-)
