Morning all and thank you for breakfast Sylvs........maybe a B.E.L.T. would be in order for a chilly morning.

The sun is shining on the frost.....nice blue sky.....just rather cold......brrrrr

I've debated old or new photographs Sylvs and, when I can, I choose old ones (because it's more how my ancestors would remember the place) but, if all else fails, then new it is. :-D

I was really fortunate last night though....I looked for the name of the farm where my grandfather had been working on the 1891 census when he was 15 and actually found several good photos of it. Some of the other addresses I looked for no longer exist, so I just used a picture as near as possible to where they would have been.

Ah well....another brand new day.........and a lovely pile of ironing to face... :-D :-D

Linds,

That dog certainly knows 'which side her bread is buttered on' !!! :-D :-D

Hope little O is feeling better now but you are right, she does need to be referred to ENT to find out what the real problem is before she suffers any permanent damage!!

I did a lot of finding photos of places last year. It's great fun

I like this site for modern photos,

http://www.geograph.org.uk/

.............. and then googling to try to find older ones.

I really should get back to writing up my trees

I find it a bit hard to concentrate at the moment :-(

Evenin' all :-D

Usual busy morning and spent a lot of the afternoon finding photos of where my ancestors lived to add to my trees......

By the time we are home from you-know-where, cooked lunch and washed up, it can be 3pm before I can sit down........ :-S

Now, the point is, do I have another Jammie Dodger or not??

errmmmm

ahhhhh.

Oh go on then!!

Hi everyone,

Been at a baby shower today.

The future aunt of the baby did all the baking.

she decorated the cake with two babies one with a pink hat and one with a blue hat.

the edges were decorated with little hearts and all around the sides were little baby garments and footprints etc. then she had tiny little dummies scattered around the cake board.

It was brilliant :-D

came home cooked dinner son and partner were going back to hers and guess what Star (dog) jumped up on my knee and refused to go with them :-D

She always goes with them the minute son says "are we going to F" it was so funny!

Hopefully a quiet day tomorrow then the girls on Tuesday and Wednesday

Just got from the cinema after watching The Book Thief

Both JB and I had read the book a few years ago so wanted to see the film

Tooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long, we were both yawning by the end of it!

I'd recommend waiting for it to show on TV, that way, you do the cleaning in between the 'laboured' parts!

Good morning all.......thank you for the teacakes and cheese toasties..... :-S :-D

Gins, I can vaguely remember the 'atmosphere' back in the sixties when the Cold War was at it's height. Not nice at all........Hopefully, sense will prevail.

Meat in slow cooker - veg all prepared, so off for a quick browse before going you-know where ;-)

Yes Dea that's the one. But we had a towel on top of the mattress and she was all covered up and the heating was on so the room was just "cosy".

Not that it made any difference she was wide awake :-D

Just got text from DIL O is complaining about her ear again and her temp is 40.5 :-(

I have told her to call NHS 24 if she is worried and to phone the Dr on Monday and ask for a referral to the ENT .

I d**n well told them to take her back to the Dr to make sure it had cleared up :-S
