When I looked after the engineering training at the company I was with, I was asked to attend the NVQ board in London to prepare new NVQ’s.

There were about 50 there. As the day went on I was getting frustrated with most of the attendees, as the topics and work they wanted to set wasn’t relevant.

I finally realised why, and asked for a show of hands as to how many were from the industry. Turns out I was one of three, the rest were all college lecturers. Most of whom had never worked in any industry at all.

If GR want to improve, you need people who use the system regularly and know its pitfalls. NOT someone who pops in once or twice. BUT users.

On a *Caribbean cruise for 6 weeks *Stickie to the front door then Gins?

It's like this....Whiskers the cat food manufacturers send out their own 'expert researchers' who stand around outside a shop selling the product and wait for them to come out...wonder if anyone observes the shoppers in the shop...and HOW many did they ask!

Boots...Protect & Perfect skin creams. A scientific research was undertaken and resulted in the fact that this cream actually worked and made you look younger

....who commissioned the scientists to undertake the work...could it have been Boots...err work it out!

Boots sold out for weeks on the release and promotion of the results

OH does research into scientific ethics ................... and is also on the governing board of the Pharmacists' organization in Canada


you should hear his reaction when those ads come on TV for the cream that makes you look younger, shampoos that strengthen your hair, the drug that will revitalize you or prevent this or that illness (eg flu or cold), etc etc etc


The scientists are usually pretty or even very ethical

...... it's the use that the companies make of the results that are questionable!

Boots did NOT commission the researchers for Protect and Perfect

They were as surprised as every one.


I KNOW I was there

We couldn't make the stuff fast enough; we had to install several new packing lines to cope with the demand.

As an independent test… one of the girls I knew (not biblically) on the packing line didn’t believe it worked… so she had another rub the stuff into one hand the other she left…. After two week the hand with the stuff one was much smoother and had visibly less lines.


She bathed in it after that.


Won’t say she needed too….. that would be rude
