Yep,Ancestry always have to "fix what is not broken"just to mess your head up I reckon.
Took me all year to get to grips with the last search thingy.

Back to FMP for most things then for me.

So frustrating when threads are deleted whilst working on them. I did not have anything better to do.

LK -- if it was on the baord for any time, it may still show up at google. Do a google search for a distinctive name or something.

See my post in this thread on Records:

Thank you Sylvia, the Danish Pastries were lovely!!!

Ginns,

Ancestry hasn't change, you are just on the wrong search, as Sylvia says - I HATE it !

It keeps changing over to there for me too.

Put a name in to get some search results, then, to the right of the screen, directly under the bar at the top which says 'home', 'family trees', 'search' etc., it will give you the option to 'go to old search' - click this to go back.

If you are still on the 'Old Search', then your problem is that you need to go to your search box, where you put in the names and top left there is a box marked 'exact matches only' - you need to put a tick in there for some strange reason or your results will all come up in that annoying new format.

Best of luck,

Dea x

Hi Gins,

Glad you are home and obviously feeling elated by your success. - Lovely feeling isn't it ??

I miss all that now I no longer work but, hey, I have lots of other things to enjoy nowadays.

Just feeling a bit bothered about my little grand-daughter at the minute.

We were taking her home this evening and just got to the main road when the traffic came to a standstill - there were police cars, fire engines and ambulances - lots of blue flashing lights and sirens and several cars strewn all over the road, people wandering everywhere - there had obviously just been a very serious accident.

We did a quick left down a side road, hoping she hadn't seen very much and found a back way to get her home.

She said she saw one car that had no window in the back and why were all those people there? She said that whenever she saw something sad she always had dreams about it.

We tried to make light of it and said that they had all got out of their cars to see how big the bumps were on the cars because they would all have to go and buy new ones etc..... The road was closed off at the other end as we went past and we told her it was so the police could tow all the broken cars away so that no more people would bump into them and have more accidents.

It did look serious though - I am sure there would have been fatalities! - My thoughts go out to their families, whoever they may be Xxx

Just hope grand-daughter doesn't have nasty dreams about it - I am not quite sure how much she saw.

I'm sure she will Ginns,

It just brings back memories of something I experienced when I was about 3 or 4 - I won't go into all the morbid details but I had nightmares for years about it and even now, I can still remember the feeling of fear that I felt then, almost 60 years later but it is still as strong when it returns!!

Anyway, hopefully, all will be well with her, I don't think she saw too much. - I am just so glad we did not leave the house a few minutes earlier !

And...Ancestry home search is still the same and then it takes me to a list of options, such as BMD...Census etc..

I hate it. The last version popped up a selection that related to the person!

Grrrrrr

Hi Renes,

I don't expect you to be there but I just wanted to extend a 'welcome' to your sister !!

I am sure there will be lots of huggs going on and she will just love her tray !!

How long is she staying for?

I just bet you will cry when she goes home!

Well, we will still be here - second best, I know, but at least a consolation ??
